It's not only about the quality of the laser parts. It's also about the quality and effort the seller makes to test that its product is not defective or under spec. I'm sure some companies just get their laser pointers from a Chinese manufacturer and then sell them without even a slight test...

If that's true I may be interested. What what be extra nice is to have similar size and shape ingots from Magnesium, to match the Tungsten. Magnesium is extremely light, 1/11 density of Tungsten, and is fairly strong, and should be much cheaper than Tungsten. It would need to be coated though...
