What I have done is to stick a side cutter* into the end of the pipe, cut a gash, grab and start twisting. With a bit of luck and care you will end up with the pen/tube in a ½'' strip rolled around the head of the side cutter. (or several strips) Be careful, the metal edges are sharp. *Kb...

If you can't press the module out, you will likely have to peel off the metal tube :(

It is possible, perhaps it is set too high and overheat the crystals quickly. Do you have any measuring instruments? Try check the tailcap current.

$5 greens vary a bit in quality, and there is not much to do about it. There are treads on how to buy a good green laser.

Maybe I am a bit critical at the moment, it just turned out that the heatsink I made for my aurora SS 16340 is a 0.2mm too small and rattle in the host. :( The hotlight heatsink would need to be cut in half to fit my 501b, that is a solution, but not quite what I were looking for. You just see...

The price is $401.98 now. A bit much considering Odicforce have the same module in 250mW for £130. He is apparently selling the low output end of the range, but there is a difference in output guarantee and return policy.
