Challenger II 3W 450nm multi mode laser review

I plan to get a beam expander from Sanwu in the future or maybe I will build I out of 2 lens, a diverging lens and a collimating lens. Thanks for the tip though:)

Challenger II 3W 450nm multi mode laser review

Cool info! I heard about G8 lenses before but it does not seem as ubiquitous as G7 and is also more expensive. Furthermore when I bought the laser from sanwu, they did not offer G8 lenses so I had to stick with the G7. Maybe I would swap lenses to G8 in the future?

Challenger II 3W 450nm multi mode laser review

True.Multimode laser diodes have poorer divergence that single mode diode but I was really hoping it would be lower, perhaps less than 2mrad. Maybe I would try using the G8 lens as Paul1598419 suggested

Challenger II 3W 450nm multi mode laser review

Actually the laser use a G7 lens according to Sanwu when I email them about the type of lens they used on this laser. So I am not too sure why it has terrible beam divergence despite using a G7. Any ideas why?

Challenger II 3W 450nm multi mode laser review

I do not have the divergence measurement up to 30m, but this is my new calculated divergences. The one in the review is wrong and I have done the amendments. When distance = 0m, Diameter = 6mm; Test 1 : Dist = 9.136m Dia = 38mm Divergence = 3.5mrad Test 2 : Dist = 6.001m Dia = 20mm Divergence...

Challenger II 3W 450nm multi mode laser review

Thank you for your positive comment. I understand that Relying on my calculations to determine a safe distance to point the laser at is very dangerous as I may not have accounted for all the variables. Fortunately, I did not actually point my laser at any buildings. I said that I point the laser...

Challenger II 3W 450nm multi mode laser review

Introduction : Hello LPF, I decided to get my first Sanwu laser, a Challenger II multi-mode 3W 450nm laser, and would be reviewing it in this post. As I am a new member, my review may not meet some of your criteria so I hope you will not be too critical. Anyway, let's jump into the review:)...

Sanwu spiker stuck in locked mode.

For Sanwu multi mode laser, the Low power mode is 5mW or below thus is eye safe. Therefore, it is safe to use the laser as a pointing device at when set to Low power. Just make sure that you obey laser safety rules and everything should be fine.

    Hello LPF from Singapore

Thankyou :) . Just a quick question as I am new, I notice many of the members in LPF have a list of the lasers that they own, colour coded, at the bottom their post. How did they do that?

    Hello LPF from Singapore

I am from Singapore and I have been interested in lasers since I was about 8. I have experience in electronics as well as programming c++ . Currently, I own a couple of lasers including the common laser 303 as well as higher powered ones such as Sanwu challenger 3w and Chinese Gatling gun style...
