Violet. And by violet I mean a color that roughly corresponds to #8000FF which is halfway in between blue #0000FF and magenta #FF00FF. I don't think a computer monitor can accurately represent the violet in 405nm but to me when I think 405nm the color I associate it with is the color in between...

I've gotten to that age where I no longer want to be hip and know all the current slang words. When I had to check the urban dictionary for the definition of a blumpkin I realized I'm just a big square and would be happy staying oblivious.
I wouldn't use these color names in every day conversation with people but this is how in my head I break down colors.
Rose (Red + Magenta)
Orange (Red + Yellow)
Chartreuse (Green + Yellow)
Spring Green (Green + Cyan)
Does anyone have a picture comparing the beams of 635, 650 and 671 beams (like all in the same photo)? I know I've seen pictures on this forum where people have pictures comparing 445 and 473 and a 488 argon I think for blues and a homemade 515 and a 532 for greens. I would like to see how 671...

Yeah I was unclear what you were trying to convey.
I purchased a laser pointer on ebay that was listed as 460. To me it looked just like 445.
The LaserTo website also claims to sell 460s. But their website looks crappy so I don't know if I trust them.
Maybe I should have put a disclaimer...

405 to 445...yes definite difference. My 405s have a purplish dot and a very faint beam at night that's almost invisible. My 445s are blue...not purplish at all. A really good solid electric blue...the more powerful blue ones I have clearly show a visible blue beam that is gorgeous.
I get that Magenta does not have an actual wavelength in the electromagnetic spectrum it's "non-spectral". I also know that some hobbyists have been able to achieve Magenta anyways by combining beams of red and blue or red and violet just as some hobbyists have made yellow beams by combining red...
That same thing happened to me last time I got it but eventually it got MUCH worse. Do a search on your computer for that file. I think I found the file in my c:\users\username\appdata\local...it should be somewhere in your profile.
