Apparently Odicforce laser will have lpc-826 + 445nmdiodes next week

I've spent a fair amount with Odicforce and can honestly recommend them to anyone. Customer service is up there with the best. Will keep an eye out for these 826's.

    flexdrive v5 pot turning direction?

Many thanks mate. You've just saved me the hassle of setting up one of my spare drivers to find out. Much appreciated. :)

    flexdrive v5 pot turning direction?

Hi all. Can anyone confirm which direction adjusts the power in which way? Clockwise = increase, or decrease in output? I've set one and can't remember and would like to tweak it to a comfortable max. Thanks.

    Flickering 445 build

Many thanks guys. I'll try clamping the heat-sunk drivers to the pill casing with a little thermal paste before permanently fixing them. :)

    Flickering 445 build

Hi all. I've got a problem I'm hoping some of the more experienced builders might be able to help with. My first dual driver (flexdrives) build ~2w, estimated, starts to flicker after around a minute of being run. When I say "flicker" it's not high frequency, more like on and off quickly once...

    dr lava??

Hi all. Just to close this one... ... It's all been sorted now. :)

    Machining question.

Without specific knowledge of the posters available tolerance limits and machining skill I think good advice should lean towards basic principles of machining; you can't replace material removed. For a basic hobby lathe, tolerance of +-0.1mm is common as far as I'm concerned. That's on the...

    Machining question.

When you're looking for a transition fit between two parts, the goal in this case (heat-sinking) is to eliminate as much air-gap as possible. Bearing in mind the inevitable lack of accuracy from hobby kit that the vast majority of home users have access to, a tolerance of +- 0.1 - 0.2mm is more...

    Machining question.

The resulting hole diameter will be the same as the rated diameter of the tool you're cutting with. So, yes, a 5.6mm dia end mill will cut a hole 5.6mm dia. Although, if you want a press / transition fit you should aim for up to a millimeter smaller diameter. So, I'd go for a 5mm dia end mill...

    dr lava??

I just wanted to update with the news I've received a response and hope to get the drivers soon. Looks like he was tied up with other priorities, and things are moving again. Will update when I get them, to settle this. Thanks for the suggestion to try PL, Jerry. It hadn't even occurred to...

Thanks a lot for mentioning that. I'll try, and see what happens. :)

    dr lava??

Does anyone know if drlava is around? I recently paid $100 for a bunch of flexdrives, back in mid October, apparently shipped over 3 weeks ago, and nothing's arrived. 3 messages sent, 2 through Google Checkout, 1 PM to his forum account and no response. Am I mistaken thinking drlava is the...

** catched by police yesterday night **

I had to re-read his post after reading yours, and confirmed he didn't call you a liar; please check. He implied that people who mistrust for little, or no reason are generally considered mistrustful. Also, it's strange to see how you reacted to a mere suggestion of possibly being unreliable...

** catched by police yesterday night **

I feel for your being stung like that, unlucky. As for what I'd do, for what it's worth, (1) never comply with authority without question, (2) put it down to experience and forget about it. Imo, all these tricks that others have suggested are all interesting and may even work, but definitely...

Dragon Lasers Spartan 1W Review by Jaxz

Re: Dragon Lasers Spartan 1W (RMA'ed) Review by Jaxz He previously posted about it apparently being faulty, and how DL were just another bad Chinese firm, but it then turned out there was nothing wrong with it, and the problem was with batteries. Were your problems also battery related? By...

Can a reverse polarity battery installation make damage?

I have a similar laser as yours but with a different focusing head. Yours is know as a Dilda I think, and mine is the Mk2 version, the only difference being that it has a different focusing cap. Mine was a kit so I know the driver I used has reverse polarity protection, it's hardly a...

Dragon Lasers Spartan 1W Review by Jaxz

Re: Dragon Lasers Spartan 1W (RMA'ed) Review by Jaxz Nice review. Good to see its power being measured. How do you rate that nospin LPM? I'm seriously looking at getting one if they're still available.

FS Wicked Laser Spyder Arctic 1watt laser

davekaye, I reckon you should just ignore this member and his chronies. The rep system is anything but a reliable representation of a member's constructive, objective, or positive input. You need to really read up on apparently reputable member's posts, and if you do you'll find in some cases...

FS: G1 S3 Spyder Arctic Edition

Just to chime in to help out, rather than take the piss. As far as I'm aware, the only place where you can no longer buy an Arctic is the USA right? I think I recall reading about their import control people barring WL (open to correction of course :) ) So potential customers from there would...
