Ye, looks like it's going to be plasma. I'll have to check out water cutters a bit more. Maybe theres a cheaper way to make it myself, as it only have to cut through 1mm steel.
Hmmm, maybe a water cutter would do it?
I'll have to check the cost of this.
The cnc machine is no problem. Already got taht. But I need a tool to cut with, that I can add to the cnc ;)
Ok, he used about 1sec/cm for the 12mm.
But anyways, I just need to cut through 1 mm.. Do i really need 1kW to do that?
How much would that cost? If you where to say an estimate. :)
1 kW CO2?
Hmm, didnt know it was soo tough to cut through 1mm steel(or less).
Guess a laser like that wont be very cheap =)
Probably better if I find a cheaper plasma then =/ At least while just playing around.
Seen some nice plasmacutters for about 300$, which cut through 12mm steel like butter.
So, I was thinking about building a cnc machine, with a laser.
First I thought of engraving, but now I'm thinking about a cutting laser.
Basicly, I do some lockpicking for fun (no crimes), and I was thinking about how great it would be to have a machine to cut out picks for me/others.!
So, my...
I use the standard kit-lense, yes :) No macro "lense" here, only the macro adapter thingy that I bought from DealExtreme.. :) It's a great buy, if you have enough light on the object.
you sure it wouldnt work? because I think mine are spinning a lot faster than it should, as I use 16V for it :P It gets hot after 30sec to a minute of spinning..
I know its not healthy for the fan, but thats what I got to try out the tunnel thingy ^^
Hey :)
I use a Nikon D40 .. Bought it a couple of years back. Great camera for the price, and a lot of fun :)
And sorry for breaking one of the diodes I got from you ^^ Told you I needed one mounted inside that aixis module.. :P Anyways, I learned the hard way. The first looks like its in...
Nice =) Yeah, its really easy. If you now go ahead and plaze one more motor, or even 2 more (3 total) then you'll see some great effects.. :) Try reversing one of the 3 motors. If you use 2 motors I think they could go the same way. Not sure, as I havn't tried it yet. :)
For smoke, you could...
I used some smoke, yes :) Had an old smoke-machine I got for my birthday when I was a kid xD Still works, never actually used it :P
My greene should be 50mW, but its from DealExtreme, and that particular laser have been tested lower than that. SO I would guess 40mW? Maybe a littlebit less...
Thats the exact same laser and package that I got from DX. 50mW (I know it rates below this, but what is the average output?) for 20$. Not saying it is the same :) But it is the same casing and stuff...
Thats a nice spiro! Really like it =)
As for how to offset the mirrors: There are a lot of ways. I used dubblesided tape (or singlesided wrapped around), but thats just for testing. Though, it worked great =) I would imagine some sort of thick glue would do the trick. I'm not too familiar with...
Thanks for the comments =)
About pushing out like I did: I'm a beginner myself, so I could be very wrong about that part. But for me it worked great. What I did wrong, was bein unpatient as I couldnt push it all the way out the second time, and I started to drag it by the connectors. THATS not...
Yeah! Managed to get to lvl 16 =) Now I need a break ^^
For lvl 11, you should try to remove the splitter, and plaxe a mirror to reflect the beam through the top hole in the midle wall, and up again in the lower whole (here by using the splitter). The bottom mirror at the right is places as it...
