    Donald Trump Inauguration

Is it me or does this humble community of nerds actually contain less venom than many chat forums do on this topic.. The lasers burned it outta us I guess :D:D:D Not that I'm TOO worried. Tho I'm an American citizen, I'm still a kid in China :tinfoil: Plenty of time for smh to burn out amirite

Thanks for the advice, Pi R Squared. I'll change my location soon. I am in Beijing, China. I have already visited most of the tour able sites around here.CNI sounds interesting... Anything else I could take advantage of in China, mainly regarding lasers? Why the garlic... Is there anything...

    Am in China now!

Once upon a time... I posted a thread that I was going to China and how this might impact my laser hobby. Now I am here and at the request of a user in my first post, I made this second post. Any follow-up comments or suggestions on what to do in China? I noticed that certain things don't...

Why are there no brown lasers?

Well, it seems that a brown laser is really a dull orange laser :P

Why are there no brown lasers?

@BowtieGuy Umm, that's just a for fun poll...:) @Cyparagon So you are saying that though the color brown is made from red and green, brown light is made from...dark orange?

Why are there no brown lasers?

Hi guys, it's been a while. So, I've been thinking about this very interesting question. Something that intrigues me a lot is the fact that red light and green light blended make yellow light, but the color red and the color green blended make...BROWN! So, is it possible to make a brown laser...

    Dichro Confusion?

Yes, Cyp, I know that infrared is invisible. I am just wondering why you can dichro visible colors, but suddenly when you go into longer wavelengths you suddenly can't do it! Where's the line?!

    Dichro Confusion?

Hi guys! I was thinking about making a monster red laser, and 'monster' means combining lots and lots of diodes (in my imagination anyways ;) ), so I was thinking whether I could dichro two different hues of red into one beam of medium red. Suddenly I realized there was such a thing as infrared...

What is the most powerful laser of each color?

All in all, does that mean that it combines the beams? Or does it merely 'lay' them side by side?

Random 1st attempt at using prisms

Wait.... are you trying to combine beams? I don't really know about this, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

What is the most powerful laser of each color?

Wow thanks everybody! Yea, scouring DTR's site, he seems to have some CHEAP 700 mW reds. I might knife edge 'em, though I've never done it before and I hope i won't mess anything up.:yabbem: io heard knife edgoing increases the beam diameter..right?

What is the most powerful laser of each color?

Hi guys! Long time no see. So researchin' around, I found out that someone had made a 7.3 W Blu and that is just awesome. It appears to me that 2W seems the threshold for green, but I don't really know about the other colors. Red? Yellow? Purple? Infrared? And what might be the highest possible...
