I’m trying to replace a laser in a disco light. I’ve got the same wavelength and output but can’t work out what the positive and negative points on the circuit board are??? Anyone help... the power from the light is 3v

like not really electrically minded... don’t mind a bit of soldering

hope someone can help

What wavelength? Do you know what diode is in the laser or have any information from the seller?

That is a diode pumped solid state laser. It uses a case positive 808nm pump diode, so the driver is a linear one that allows for the case of your host to be positive too.

Forgive me for being dumb in this subject... but what’s that in layman’s terms... so does the case it goes in becomes the positive? , I guess providing the housing at the top is touching it.. and negative goes to the spring???

thanks for the help by the way..

Exactly--
Is a low cost mass produced replacement module -- the case is + and the spring is - as indicated on the pcb.
They all say " Requirements Voltage: 3~3.7V" negative end of battery to the spring---positive to case/host battery tube tail cap

There are dozens of sellers offering them on eBay at $5 to $10 the only difference is free shipping or not free shipping https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...cat=0&_odkw=532nm+30-50mW+Green+Laser+Module+

Good for you. I have a few of these in my stock that I got from Fasttech sometime ago. I believe they were about $4 each when you purchased at least 5 of them.
