There are two individuals in Vietnam who produce laser products in this forum, even though I know the difference between them, I believe their names are far too similar for many of us. If I were them, I'd ask to change your member names to be distinctly different so no one confuses them.

Hi,
This is a discussion forum good or bad to a certain extent, People have the right to express their views . Getting issues out in the open help resolve issues . As for G being 15 his knowledge is overwhelming and he is an asset to the forum regarless of his age. Take it or leave it..

No mistake! I am in fact 15.
That is amazing then :) You are certainly not an average 15 year old.

I even thought about teaching you the basics in terms of layout and design considerations for these high-frequency CC SMPSs.
My drivers in DIYs are either cheap ebay crap or primitive use of LM317s, AMC7135s and a couple of transistors. I would greatly appreciate it, and probably others would too, if you find the resources and time to write a proper driver tutorial for this forum with your own take and ideas.

Well, I have good news for you, Tomorrow I will be teaching a friend of mine how to design a driver and we will go through my design process. I will upload a full video of that session to my youtube channel.

Since it appears that the 'negative experience' was re-habbed to 'neutral' or 'positive' in the VERY LEAST the title needs to be changed .Many will be reading that and it is unfair to let it stand as-is. Not sure that closing the thread will remove the title.
I could be wrong.

btw I have 'no dog in this fight'.

best luck to all

I still see a negative transaction. Thanhtung was perfectly fine ignoring the customer completely and keeping both the laser and the money until he was publicly called out for it. His replies have been downright inappropriate on these matters. Yeah this isn't my fight either... just giving my thoughts on the matter.

The title reflects the entire experience I had with Tung.

In near 25 years of internet transactions, this is my worst.

I’ve changed the title to avoid confusion with the other similarly named user, but my experience with Tung is wholly negative and in no way shape or form was this experience neutral or positive.

I believe Tung’s attitude and attempt to save face in this thread and on Facebook to be completely dishonest.

I believe I only received the refund, which (he denies he sent) due to public pressure from this post and one like it on Facebook.

I've never purchased from thanhtung, only from Phuoc, but I've tried to work a deal for some of thanhtung's stuff and never could come to a satisfactory agreement due to the high shipping charges which I don't believe were the actual costs. After that, I decided not to buy what he was offering. Besides, the other seller, Phuoc, had made the same thing for far less cost.

All of that said, I won't order from either of them now, Phuoc made some nice things for me, but between his costs to get the items machined and my continually wanting more than I originally asked for, the price always ended up three times more than I anticipated. MY FAULT I allowed that to happen.

Again, it wasn't wholly him, both of us caused that, poor estimates and my wanting to add more or make changes so much. So, I cannot really point the finger at him alone for the problems, but there were problems which are wholly his responsibility, like a few large hosts I had made which were not properly packed and became damaged in shipping, he protected the box well from outside things hitting it, but used the most flimsy bubble wrap you can buy to wrap the parts and half of them were horribly damaged from banging around together inside the box.

After that, last but not least I had sent money for a completed host by Phuoc over a year ago, he gives me passive resistance each time I ask for it to be sent, screwed.

Of these two Vietnam sellers, I'm not sure which one is worse when it comes to getting the wrinkles ironed out, but I will say this, in the past, Phuoc did do some very nice work for me which I very much love, too bad something stupid like this has broken our good relationship.

If you order from either of these guys, you MUST have clearly written agreements and they MUST include documentation of the work performed for what price, as well has firm shipping QUOTES, not estimates. Once you have decided what you want DO NOT change it, this is where the money gets out of control and you loose the ability to control the cost from the initial price. Also SET A HARD DATE the item MUST be completed and file a Paypal complaint for non-delivery if they don't get it shipped, I had to do that more than once, seems in Vietnam, agreements of when something will be done mean nothing, and they will run out the time to make a PPal claim, every time. I had to do that to him, unfortunately. Perhaps that is why he won't send that last host I paid for, angry at me.

In light of that information then I have only one person I would ever need to buy from and that's Rich aka Lifetime if I need custom parts.

Well, Phuoc did some very nice work for me, just that there were all of these circumstances which have turned me away now. It is a tough life in Vietnam, many people live on very little money, so having business from us is a great help, but at the same time, when things go wrong, that money is too difficult for them to give back, things are so tight I think that is the reason things went to badly.

That does explain a lot. It also explains the encouragement to buy more than what you originally wanted. I wish them well, both of them
