Physics Question of the Day - Combining Wavelengths

What would result if you were somehow able to combine the wavelengths of typical diode frequencies? 445nm + 532nm + X(n+1)nm = (XYZ)nm Would the resulting beam wavelength be an average of the contributing wavelengths or the sum of wavelengths? What about the beams energy? Would it follow suit...

    Question - Lazerer Lens Caps

The ring in the bottom left? Who would have known. It's a wonder Max doesnt send instructions or something with these... Another off the wall question for anyone. The warning sticker that came with my 1W'er says "Output<1000mW" and "Class IVb". Is this sticker on there just because it is the...

    Question - Lazerer Lens Caps

I must be missing something obvious here because I could not get anything on the host to "twist" other than the tail section where the power switch is, and the lens cap if installed... My second line meant: there is no single lens which is going to increase the focus of the beam. The only thing...

    Question - Lazerer Lens Caps

so when this laser is advertised as being "focusable", how would one go about adjusting the focus? Am i incorrect in saying that the most focused beam I am going to get is without any of the 5 caps on as the other 4 are divergance/splitting caps?

    Question - Lazerer Lens Caps

So i got my Lazerer 445nm 1W today. I opted for the 5 lens kit. It is pretty obvious what 4 of the 5 lens do (can someone say DISCO!) however, I am kind of miffed as to what the 5th one does. It doesn't appear to have any type of media in the center like the others do. The beam appears to be...

    Lazerer - Out of Stock

I went to lazerer today (like I do everyday) to check the status of the 532 nm Rifles and found that they have all been removed from the site. Odd....

    Lazerer - Out of Stock

I have no idea what that means. Acrylic lenses are difficult to manufacture? There is an acrylic shortage in hong kong? I also got that same email from max. I wanted to know if anyone knew what a short while would be. I also saw he was looking for a distributor? Must mean demand is very...

    Technical Question - 555 nm

If the eye has a precieved intensity of 1.0 @ 555 nm, why are most green lasers outputting a wavelength of 532 nm?

    Lazerer - Out of Stock

Does anyone have any information regarding Lazerer's stock shortage? I have been looking to buy a 532 nm Rifle model (any wattage) yet everytime I check I see those evil words: Out of Stock. This isnt unique to the Rifle model, several of their popular models remain sold out. Anyone?

First Post - First Question: What do you use your lasers for?

Has anyone attempted to light Visco fuse with a laser? It comes in a variety of colors, my guess is that it could be possible with a darker colored fuse but I know some people have difficulty lighting candle wicks. Not sure if this would hold true for the Visco as well...

First Post - First Question: What do you use your lasers for?

Hello all. My name is Jeremy. I am a powertrain engineer for chrysler in michigan. I have been tinkering with things all my life but generally I have stuck with things of a mechanical nature. Truth be told, anything involving circuitry/electronic devices I have tended to shy away from. I can...
