where does the LOC LPC-815 come from? IE: disk drive...?

I'm on a 2yr good behaviour bond atm (1yr remaining). So perhaps after that. I'm sceptical about buying lasers from ebay, my step-brother tried but it never turned up. I bought mine off ebay long before they were an issue.
