To be honest, this wasn't anticipated, I had already a 300mw and c6 host and driver ordered, but I was getting a little restless so I took out the soldering iron.
And yeah I knew a 9V battery was a bit high for a 5mw diode, thats why I added a resistor into the circuit.
Ok, this is my first build; as pathetic as it may seem, a weak red laser, probably less than 1mw. However my heart is somewhat touched from building this so and I just thought i'd share for the fun of it.
Now I want to build some more.:eg:
Don't buy it. Some of us are lucky and get good Arctics, but check the thread: '33 reasons not to buy from WL' Something like that, sometimes the consumer doesn't get what he/she wants.
What we can all agree on however is that the Arctic is way overpriced, and there are people on LPF selling...
Appreciated; unfortunately for me I have already purchased the Arctic, now i'm depressed. I think any day now its going to stop working.
At least I've learn't from my mistakes, and will seek advice from members on this forum before getting a new laser, which will be pretty soon.
:thanks:
Nice to see some good reviews on this page, I got an Arctic recently, then joined this forum and found a lot of Anti Arctic people. It got worried, i thought mine was going to stop working soon. Now i have some hope :)
So far i can't disagree with your review. Thanks a lot.
