I have to disagree with the people saying the Wii quickly becomes boring... I bought one on launch day, and have spent many, many hours on it. BUT, there are some caveats.
Where the Wii really excels is casual/party play. This is perfect for me. I'm a long-time gamer, but lately between job...
Consider it sold. Let's arrange Paypal or something :)
I got fed up with DX shipping and canceled my 30mw true, now I'm dying for a greenie.
PM me your paypal info or let me know if you'd prefer to handle it differently. I'm in WA state.

Re: Dorcy Mini for sale!!
You might want to try selling it locally or on craigslist/ebay... Most of the people on the forum would rather build a dorcy from scratch than buy one pre-made. Never hurts to try of course ;)
That being said, your build quality looks excellent and I think it's well...
Re: I have my diode, now where do I plug in teh ba
ant: These GB diodes are the closest thing we have to a known quantity, and people are getting a pretty good feel for what they can do and what kind of abuse they will take. Unless the cost of getting more diodes is negligible for you (not to...
I'm in beautiful Olympia, WA, sitting about 1000 yards from the state capitol building (workin for the Man...).
Looks like K-9 is my closest LPF'er so far, but spokane is still pretty far.
Nobody from the seattle area?

Came across this in the wee hours of the morning.... Very talented magician using a greenie as his main prop.

one of the current favorites is the pioneer 112d, available for $35 shipped from newegg.com. This is an open can diode, which is both good and bad. Good in that it has a higher potential power rating, bad in that it is VERY susceptible to static and other types of death.
I will leave it to...
Unfortunately, the energy saving figures are based around the assumption of a CRT display, where black implies the cathode ray is not scanning that particular spot.. With LCD displays, the fluorescent (or more recently, LED) backlight stays on regardless of what color the screen is displaying...
solar - It could also be your firewall.. The laserchat page is a client-side java app, so if you are (like me) heavily firewalled at work, this won't do any better than if you had a real IRC client installed...
Oh well, time to get a BNC on port 80 :)

Just came across this:
www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/cubegoodies/8cff/
Looks a little bit on the small side, but how cool would it be to adapt it to an LD housing... It already has UV LED's in it so the power/wiring situation is probably not terrible.
I think we need TimeLord's opinion on this...
I had a DX 30 on order for over 2 weeks without it shipping, and now I'm counting myself lucky for the delay. After hearing all the problems people are having (even if its just mechanical.. seems like that's just one of many problems though) I've canceled my order and will probably try out on of...
Are these still available? Looks like it was more of a "I have a good source thing" rather than a traditional group buy, but I didn't want to slog through 100's of messages to verify :)
I can also attest to the fragility of the open can diodes, as I've lost both that I've worked with... I think they are difficult enough to question whether they're worth the trouble...
I ordered 5 GB diodes though so I will just be patient and wait for those :)
Where here frequents "the IRC"... usually when I'm hacking on projects late at night I'm also idling on efnet... Would be cool to talk with other LPF'ers in real time....
#lpf and #lasers are both available on efnet. I'm also not opposed to hosting it on irc.FreeNode.net
If you're interested...
I have killed two open cans so far.. I keep hearing how great they are for lasing, but I'm tired of wasting dvd drives.. So I just got 5 of sen-kat's GB diodes. Once I have gone through these i might take another crack at harvesting an open can.
