    Do I need a heatsink?

Those glasses arent much better than your normal sunglasses >.< i'd go with these ARG - Blu Ray, Argon, Blue, KTP [NR-ARG-EN207] - $80.50 they were suggested to me by Jayrob and I would make sure if you choose some other goggle brand make sure its OD rating is 6+... eyesight is worth the money to me

    445nm diode case pin help...

Oh alright cool, thanks for the help Jay, and I'm very excited about getting the host. From all of the posts on the forum about it I hear the quality is amazing.

    445nm diode case pin help...

Alrighty, so with the solarforce host that I ordered from you (depending on the driver I order) I may or may not have to case the case pin and put a lead onto the neg input, if it doesnt case any hard to the diode to do it when its not needed I may just do it as a precaution.

    445nm diode case pin help...

The diodes that are sold on stonetek.org are case neutral, I was wondering if it would be a problem if I were to bridge the case pin to the neg pin of the diode(make it case negative) or if I should just make a lead wire off the case pin and splice it in with the negatie wire; or should I just...

My first laser build - 445 *Pic heavy*

Very nice build +rep to see such a clean build and also good to point out safety. I cant wait till I get my Solarforce host =) hopefully it ships soon, but I still need to wait till dr.lava gets more flex drives in >.< I guess someone on ebay bought him out (which is good for him bad for us)...

    Some Questions

Focusable and adjustable can mean the same thing it look like this laser is one that you can focus the beam, some "adjustable" lasers might also mean that you can adjust the power of them which I would only do that on one that has been made your self or a DIY(Do It Yourself) build.

1st Build; a bit of help please?

I just was reading through a post and another member just posted the diode voltages ill quote him """"For Red laser diodes the working voltage is ~ 3 VDC For 445nm Blue laser diodes the working voltage is ~ 4.5 VDC For 405nm BluRay laser diodes the working voltage is ~ 5.5 VDC A #18650 lithium...

1st Build; a bit of help please?

I actually did my first extraction from an old sled that I found in the basement, it's not too hard just getting that little circuitboard off might be hard for me If you have a good soldering gun and a solder removal tool then you shouldnt have much problems with it =) I've also heard of people...

1st Build; a bit of help please?

It may be cheaper to get your host off ebay or a seller here and then machine your own heatsink, but then again I don't know aluminum(sp) prices lol, its a shame copper is expensive and looses its shine after a while. I don't see why anyone won't sell to you atleast you aren't like some of the...

Can you see the beam of a Blu-Ray or Blue laser?

That's what I was thinking too, a beam of light is a beam of light... just because the cones in your retina don't absorb it well enough doesn't mean it wont burn with a beam shot to the face...

Can you see the beam of a Blu-Ray or Blue laser?

I'm not so sure about that, but 445's typically are set to higher power which can blind you pretty quick and the 405's since they arent as visible the light can be jsut as intense even if you cant pick up on it.. just like IR.. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong though

Can you see the beam of a Blu-Ray or Blue laser?

Yeah I deffinately wouldn't even touch a 1W blue laser unless I had the right eye goggles... its kinda of like "hmm do I spend $80 or ruin my vision for free....." Any laser I would just use goggles especially those chineese things that might not even have an ir filter on the green ones and they...

    Diffraction....

I just found a site selling some diffraction gratings made of glass DG Star Clusters - Optics - Novalasers Inc. not sure how credible the site is though.
