Most powerful single mode laser diode?

    Great, thanks!

Most powerful single mode laser diode?

I was wondering what the most powerful single mode laser diode is. Would be great if we could compile a list of them by wavelength. Surely this will prove useful to many.

Need help identifying laser diode from DVD drive

So out of boredom, I decided to take apart my no longer used LG GH22NP20 DVD re-writer and to was lucky enough to find an open canned red diode which I then pressed into an Axis module which in turn got inserted into a custom made Aluminium heatsink with a small fan to keep things cool and was...

Sanwu guardian host and diode configuration (green laser)

I would have definitely opted for the 1.6W 525nm diode but since the maximum output in the guardian series is 1W for both the 520 and 525 nm versions, I decided to go for the 520 nm model with the hopes of it not being de-canned. Placed my order last night :).

Sanwu guardian host and diode configuration (green laser)

Thanks for the detailed response! As you mentioned that the 525 nm diode is a de-canned one and from experience that means it is more likely to be damaged over time due to dust and debris affecting its performance so maybe that's why the 520 nm diode is the more expensive option here. To be...

Sanwu guardian host and diode configuration (green laser)

So I've been out of the laser scene for quite some time now but every now and then I like to dive back in and experience what I've been missing. Got my eyes set on a Sanwu Guardian laser however I'm unsure of two options: The host material and diode. From experience, would the white copper...

    Laser laws in Italy?

I am not worried about sneaking them in but actually using them at night. I don't want to be thrown in jail, pay a fine or get my laser confiscated.

    Laser laws in Italy?

Hello, I've recently moved to Italy and was wondering if I could play around with my lasers at night or is it Illegal to do so in Italy? What are the laws for handheld laser pointers? Thanks!

PGL-III-C-473 fried due to reverse polarity

No. The module is isolated by a white plastic ring so it makes no contact whatsoever. I still can't seem to find where the positive input on the driver is and where it makes contact with the body.

PGL-III-C-473 fried due to reverse polarity

In that case, where does the pill make contact with the case? It's anodized from inside so how can the current pass through the body? I can't seem to find a part that is not anodized so I really can't tell how to complete the circuit.

PGL-III-C-473 fried due to reverse polarity

Here are the pictures you requested. I can't seem to find the positive case contact to driver. Maybe someone can help me out with that.

PGL-III-C-473 fried due to reverse polarity

I've managed to unscrew the head and remove everything. I de-soldered the diode and the positive and negative leads from the module but then I realized there was a burnt component on the driver that was charred beyond recognition to i brushed it right off the board. I guess the only was for...

PGL-III-C-473 fried due to reverse polarity

I sure hope it's as easy as taking the module out and de-soldering the diode or replacing it with a new one. So my challenge now is to unscrew the wider head from the body right? Need to buy another C clamp for that job.
