Techhood "6W" 450nm laser module + PWM modulator

I asked Techhood to provide me with a G2 or G7 lens to get a little more power, but the instability can only get fixed with a more powerful fan and probably a different module housing. I thought an actively cooled laser would at least work better than a handheld laser, so maybe it‘s really the...

Techhood "6W" 450nm laser module + PWM modulator

Hey GSS, I know what you mean. I tested the laser after 3 minutes without using the lpm continuously right from the start. Result was the same. The lpm despite it‘s rather iffy reputation here seems to be working alright. Techhood says I have the wrong measuring set-up or something 😦. The...

Techhood "6W" 450nm laser module + PWM modulator

Hello my photonic friends! This is a review of a chinese ebay engraving laser module for only 78USD with shipping. I did not know what to expect from this purchase. Now I know and want to inform anyone who is interested in cheap burning lasers from ebay or Aliexpress. Shipping -Ebay's "Orange...

    Laserlands 638nm Red Laser Module

Hmm that sounds bad. I‘ve only had great deals with Laserlands so far, but I sure wouldn’t buy a 700$+ labby. I‘ve seen they have a 1W 520nm laser module for 87$ on ebay. I really have to resist not to buy it immediately to test it. Since most lasers use diodes now, building a laser up to spec...

    Laserlands 638nm Red Laser Module

Ah okay so the mistery of free shipping from China is solved now. Yeah I would never spend more than 100$ for some ebay lasing equipment, but my experience with chinese vendors is 100% positive. In fact I‘ve had more trouble with german or european trades in the past than with asian ones. If I...

    Laserlands 638nm Red Laser Module

Absolutely right, but I don‘t use it as an „engraving tool“, so this pwm works for me. Techhood has never let me down so far. Let‘s see if that cheap deal works out. Out of all chinese ebay sellers they ship for free and the stuff is in central Europe just a week later. Idk how that‘s possible..

    Laserlands 638nm Red Laser Module

Hey folks, if you‘re still looking for a pwm controller, Techhood has an awesome deal of a 6W 450nm laser module for 78$ shipped including a pwm controller. I ordered it yesterday and might review the bundle in a different thread upon arrival. Diode is probably the NUBM08.. We‘ll see See you...

    Laserlands 638nm Red Laser Module

Hello kecked, if you want to test the durability of your LD, I‘d go for analog modulation, since PWM only changes the duration of laser pulse and no laser pulse. Only to our eyes the power output seems to change when operated at high pulsing frequencies (> 1 kHz). The actual output power stays...

    Laserlands 638nm Red Laser Module

Hello, I just wanted to add that I did a little mistake measuring the output power. I put the LPM to close to the laser and the fan which cooled off the sensor, thus the real output power with lens attached is 165-170 mW. Have a nice time and safe lasing! Philipp

    Laserlands 638nm Red Laser Module

Hello, hmm well I had an ebay discount of 10 Euro. 19 bucks is a little pricy, but I was surprised how flawless it works. Basically you could build it yourself using a fake arduino micro board and a little know how, that I don‘t possess 😉 The small golden thing on the blue box is the screw to...

    Laserlands 638nm Red Laser Module

That is the one I have. It works very nicely and I got it for only 5$ as a special offer! I tested the correlation between the duty cycle and the output. It correlates almost peefectly over a ttl frequency of 5 kHz. I used my lpm to verify that. Only the cables are trash and I attached some...

    Laserlands 638nm Red Laser Module

Hey you guys! I have a little update on this low cost laser module. I measured the output power and it reads 190 mW without and 150 mW with lens attached. Not too bad, but I am still baffled that it operates at only 60% of the max. current, yet the output power is on point. Maybe I need to check...

    Laserlands 638nm Red Laser Module

Hello Peers, today I want to review a small laser module that I ordered from laserlands.net. LINK: https://www.laserlands.net/diode-laser-module/600nm-640nm-orange-red-laser-module/635dot/3350-638d-1919.html Here are some details on the unit: - LD: Sharp 185mW single mode - ncluded is the...

Review of the Directly-Injected 488nm Greenish-Blue Laser Pen

I meant, that I hope the laser to emit < 489nm of light, since I am more fan of blue lasers.
