Crazy collection Pman, probably the largest one there is! :D

Nice pictures too - that looks like a nice spot. I always forget that other places have proper trees, almost strange to see them ... we're stuck with little Charlie Brown trees up here for the most part.

diache, you would like it where I live in Tacoma, WA. It is just south of Seattle which they call it the emerald city because of all the trees and everything is so green. I can see the Puget Sound from my patio and the trees are as diverse as anywhere I've ever been and tall as any short of the redwoods.

That sounds really nice! I need to make a trip down to WA at some point. Similar to parts of BC I'd imagine - I love it there. It's nice to see giant trees that have been around for hundreds of years with nice dense branches and leaves. Not to mention mountains, none of those up in this part of the NWT either - barely even have hills.

Real strange once you go further North up to the tundra. No trees at all up there, even grass/shrubs are sparse. Looks kinda like the moon...

We have Mt. Rainier in clear view, which is larger than the rest of the Cascade Range put together. When my daughter was born i lived in Vancouver, WA which was in sight of Mt. St. Helens and MT. Hood. The Columbia River is five miles across at that point and people would ski in the river or ski on Mt. Hood on the same day. Even August. Went up to see Mt. St. Helens after it erupted and the whole place looked like the moon, no color at all, just ash.

That must of been a sight. I have a friend you moved to Vancouver Island. It is really dull here in the UK, he wouldn't ever move back over here. The only sightseeing opportunity is London which I am fortunate to live nearby. But this is all man-made structures rather than natural beauty. Make the most of your surroundings. :)

Like the conversations going on. Feels more relaxed in this thread.
I did have my son in law try and take pics last night but where I was you couldn't get right to the lake without possibly getting in trouble and it's not like everyone wouldn't see me shining lasers that's for sure. They would have been better right at the water but here's what I got taken with my note 4:
1.1W 650 and 1.3W 638nm hitting the water. What the camera doesn't pick up is there's a reflection off of any laser hitting it back up into the sky:
pmDfeceaj

The beams didn't show up on camera but you can see the 589nm a bit next to the 473nm which I think both run about 80mW:
pnqo6ET0j

This is about 3.3W of 450 and 2.2W of 462. Notice how 1W of 462 is looks as bright or brighter (at least to me):
pl5e6qsOj

1.5W 520 and 600mA of 532nm. Doesn't show the color difference well enough:

638 and 520 across the lake to land. You can also feintly see the 589nm:
plqtPvDjj

Across the lake to land:
plczWYx2j

A swath of 470+ 6W:

You figure it out. Colors are really all darker than what we saw though. Gotta say that the beams were all incredibly sparkly and looked amazing. Anone looking over the lake for about 1/2 hour got a nice show of me waving them around in patterns. I messed up and should have had 3.3W 450, 2.2W 462 and 6W 470+ but somehow only ended up with 2 of them. A boat with a lot of people passed under this and I'm sure it looked really cool:

I didn't bother with the 405nm as it wouldn't show up on camera even at 700+mW. Had stronger ones but they wouldn't have shown up either.

Nice images Pman, I especially like the last one.

No, you would of been fine, the lasers weren't too visible :D

Regardless of your expressed problems, I enjoyed the night shot across the lake. I always like night beam shots. ;)

Well if you haven't figured it out the wavelengths on the 5 beams are:
532nm, 638, 462, 520, 450. Can't believe I forgot the 470+ as that would have had a great showing and the 650 would have likely shown up too. I don't think the 589 would have been picked up and I completely forgot about the 100+ mW <515nm I had too as that would have shown up too.
The phone made all of them look darker than they looked too.
I'll try today to start taking pics of my indicidual cases with some descriptions. Can't promise much for descriptions though as I really didn't start writing down specifics for them until way later. Obviously I know the wavelengths, lens, batteries and outputs but would likely no be able to name a lot of things like the driver used and setting although pretty much everything used a quality driver and not something pulled off a cheap LED light..

Just do your best with descriptions. Don't worry about it too much though.

Updated with all my smaller boxes/cases with pics and identifications:) Exhausting but of course I still have the 7 big cases for another day and then all my other stuff laser hobby related at some point. If you see weird things let me know and I'll try and fix;)

Wow, Pete. Just went through all your new photos of your collection and I must say that I don't know of anyone who has a larger collection of pointers. I've built many lasers and have only kept the ones that I liked and either sold or gave away the rest. I know you have divested yourself of many also. Just showing them seemed like a lot of work. I'd rep you, but I have to spread some more around first. Thanks for the effort.

All I can say is there's a lot more to come with all those other cases and there's a heck of a lot more pens with some of them generic with a twist and some special in their own right.
Basically what I am doing is describing them how they are labeled so I'm not guessing anything. It's not so hard to come up with what the drivers likely are depending upon # of cells used but there's no way I can remember all the specifics for all of my stuff.
Also, in general almost everything that has a cruddy looking dot uses a 3-element lens (which you can usually tell by the darker look) or a form of G lens although for things like LPC-826 or 150mW 405nm they are more likely to be acrylic. All output readings are peaks. Everything that takes a normal lens was output tested with a G2 before switching to another lens if needed for better beam/dot specs.

On a seperate note I realize it's a ridiculous amount of builds but for now i'm not looking to sell any . I'm just not up for it and I know if I don't say it I'll be getting lots of offers for things as it happens everytime I show stuff. I am busy still repairing some sci-first lasers for members for the cost of parts and shipping. To be honest it's kind of depressing though. I've had to rebuild everything (although to be fair it has been either a driver or diode blown and not both at the same time yet.

All I can say is WOW; what a collection man. I could not imagine having that many! I guess my collection of tools is probably as extensive as your laser collection but still... lol.

Very nice!
