Hello, I thought I'd show everyone another version of Mrcrouse's heat sink collection for the Ophir 20C head. :)

This is not his top of the line surround style, but, it's a 3 sided sink with cooling fins on both sides, and a mounting hole centered in the bottom for tri-pods or whatever you like.

I wanted this to be a little different, so I had Mike anodize mine in black!
First of all, to match the Ophir head.
And also, to reduce some of the possible beam reflections!

Although this version of Mrcrouse's heat sink has less mass, and therefore less capability for heat absorbability than his surround style sink,
I figure with Ophir's already 4-5W ability plus the additional capacity from this sink, it'll be more than enough for me for the near future.

Here are a few photo's of Mrcrouse's fine work!

The front of the Ophir sits forward a little, kind ***y looking.

A nice flush fit at the top & rear.

Great machining, nice slip fit.

Another great job by Mrcrouse.

I would recommend his work to anyone!!!

A +1 for an excellent job. :thanks:

I wish I had the skills to do things like this. But since I don't I have to go through him.

I like the anodizing. Came out good!

Thanks Speedy, I agree, the anodizing turned out real nice.

I do machine a lot of my own parts, but Mrcrouse has some good designs for these H.S.'s, he also has the ability to do anodizing, and he does it well! :)

That's really awesome! And it even lets you put the head on the tripod without turning the sensor sideways, too. Nice!

I agree, it's only an aesthetics thing, but that's one of the things I liked about this heat sink.
AFAIK it doesn't change the functionality of the Ophir by having it rotated 90 degrees, but I'd rather leave it right side up.
