Yeah, electrical charge doesnt weigh anything afaik. Its just the chemical reacting that creates electricity. Im not a science major so I dont know the technical terms for this stuff lol

All of my 18650 batteries are crap fires that came with cheap lasers. All of them weigh 33grams. All are getting discharged and trashed.
Just bought some from Larry.

Antharak;

You will quickly see the increased energy capacity of the Panasonic 3400 mah cells.

Plus you will have cells . . .

which have passed stringent UL 1642 safety standards.

I agree, I now have like 40 Sanyo 2200mAh cells and 15-20 Panny 3400 cells. Most of the Pannys are in my flashlights since they benefit more and I use those more but they are amazing!

ultra/tang/mars/ultr/crap/junkfire are all the same, cheap cells. The problem really lies within the 18650/26650 cells though. The 16340 and smaller cells tend to be legit cells

Trustfire flames tend to be the only decent trustfire cells

Easiest way is with a hobby charger that can do discharge cycles and tell you the real mAh of the cell. Other than that its basically buy name brand stuff from trusted sellers. Only way you can tell for sure is testing, ripping the cell open or trusting a supplier (which I no longer deal with foreign suppliers, they loe too often)

These batteries are so popular because they are so simple to get. I have ordered them as a way to use my lasers because the so called "trusted" sorces fail at delivering anything you buy. I have ordered Panasonic batteries twice and have never seen them.

Yes this is a good thread that needs to be kept active, anyone new to the hobby needs to know this information.
There were many things that I did not know when I first started out in Lasers but I was lucky that I found this site early and never purchased any "Startafire" "Housefire" "Suretobeafire" type batteries.
Don't be tempted by their cheap price, you could pay very dearly in the long run!

Thanks Livinloud, hope all is well with you!

Id put money on it that these trusted places you ordered from were overseas and you also ordered during the LiIon shipping ban. Had you oredered from within the coubtry then you wouldn't have shipping problems. BTW, places such as DX and FastTech, arent trusted sources. Trusted sources are Illumin or someone like that.

those are the names we should all remember and use. They fit better than the one's on the label.

I just found or learned of Illumin in the last 48hrs so I will try them for sure. Not sure when the shipping ban started but my last order (Fasttech I know) was in June. I also ordered from a member here in the last few days so I should have good Panasonic cells soon. I plan on tearing open a trustfire asap just to see what's inside.
