Hello!

I am new to the forum, and came here looking for some help on my research project. Specifically, I need to drive a high(er) power laser diode at ~2.6V and ~1A, and be able to control it through TTL modulation (up to ~1 KHz rate).

Does anybody know of a good driver out there that could help me do this? I thought the FlexMod P3 would fit the bill, but I can't find any (maybe there is one or two around these parts that somebody would be willing to sell me?)... Any other thoughts?

Thank you in advance!
Nick

Thanks everybody for the information.

I am still on the hunt for a P3 (if anyone has a spare, let me know!)

Basically, I need to drive a high-power red diode laser in a pulsed configuration (something like 5 msec on, at 30 Hz, ~2.5V load), and push ~1A in current equivocally. Any other thoughts on viable TTL drivers out there?

Blord: Do you have a data sheet on the ST-driver available?

Go to PL forum.
Driver I have does TTL very nicely is
called Die4Driver. There is 2 versions
around. One does 445nm diodes and the
Other is a red driver.
Driver does 1.86A at nearly 6v out from a 8.4v source
Fill the form out.
Red does same current out but can't be used for
higher voltages.
Robin's driver is probably
the best TTL driver out there still being produced

Great!!
I tried doing that with my phone and couldn't get it to work.
...Busy night... Tired.

Thanks for your help!

Hi ntrail,

I use this one High Current LM358 Laser Diode Driver (405nm / 445nm / 635nm / 650nm / IR Diodes) - Detailed item view - OdicForce Lasers Online Shop

To add a TTL control, it just needs a transistor adding from one side of the voltage ref to ground and the soft start cap reducing in value depending on the PWM frequency. See post #6.
