Wow the discussion lights off while I sleep :D
Sta, I tried to explain the chemistry thing to my dad but we found some with a circuit that reduces output to 1.5v.

I know that Canon advises it's users not to use Lithium AAs...

Admittedly, as with any other subject, there will be outliers. Thanks for pointing one out. However, 1.8V open-circuit of e² compared with 1.6V open-circuit of alkaline is a difference of only 12%. As far as running voltage specs are concerned, 12% is a small margin.

It's like running a 110V appliance at 123V. If that is enough to kill the device, you've not designed the thing properly. Let's not blame the power source for engineering oversights :shhh:

I caught him once :p

I don't see the problem with being proven wrong and I don't see why so many people are opposed to it. It means I've replaced a bad idea with a good idea. By all means, continue to "chase me" ;)

I've been here three years, first time I went looking for you posting on more battery stuff... It was a one time deal for me, I have better things to do. However, you chase everyone here looking to enlighten! Probably have had a lot to do with keeping people straight and stopping disasters from some of the bad advice some give out from time to time.
