Haha you are good man. Although a flexible circuit board for lasers which could be bent or curved would be a worthwhile endeavor I think.

Flexable PCB? Sounds innovative but I'm sure that there's reasons for it to not be commercial: high production cost, issues with it staying in place, issues with soldering, issues with the circuit breaking while flexing the PCB, issues with it making contact with places it's not supposed to etc. It certainly SEEMS like an awesome idea, but if it's not out there then I suppose there's a good reason for it being so. Especially when they tease you about it with those flexible roll-up keyboards! CURSE YOU MANUFACTURERS!!!

Edit in response to Wannaburn's edit: Then you kill a few diodes and realise you could have spent less than one diode's worth on a test load, then saved $100+ in diodes that would have been saved. Hindsight is 20/20 (as we all know).

Edit: I just need to buy a test load and everytime I go to click "buy" I think: "that's a gorram diode I could buy instead!"

I made mine, it cost 0$ :shhh:

Inside old electronics you find the diodes, and MAYBE a 1ohm resistor. Why you don't harvest one then?

Yeah a very cheap diode...!lol :) Jufran sells them in kit form for around $10 + shipping! Here;)

I would like to add that you can also use the Blitz Linear ADJ from Cajunlasers, their very cheap and you can run a red diode with one Li-Ion! HERE is the link.

EDIT: 400th post!!! :bday:

So I am in planning right now for a lot of stuff so let me make sure I understand:

Red Diodes can be used w/ Flexdrive and One Li-Ion Battery?
Other Diodes can be used w/ Microboost and One Li-Ion Battery?

Are Flexdrives, Microboosts, and X-Boosts the same size?

Thanks,
Isaac

I am about to order the following:
PL520 w/ Microboost @ 300mA
S06J 12X w/ Microboost @ 450mA
638nm w/ FlexDrive @ 300mA
650nm Diode (and I will see if DTR can do a driver with that custom)

Yes to both of them, but the other diodes can also be used with the flex.;)

All configs use 1 Li bat.

Your list looks ok.

Edit: Have a look here Trevor made a great compendium...;) and all the specs and sizes are there! (Flex and Micro 9 x 12 mm X-boost 10 x 12 mm). Also Mosquito - for Mitsubishi 635nm diodes if you can find one...

Thanks! I cannot wait to get this build set done. It will be 600 dollars in parts but I will have all the wavelengths possible for DIY in Leadlight Chrome Hosts.

I certainly will! I have one finished so I will post a build thread soon. These are totally focus fixed lasers and look really professional!
