So I promise this isn't dead yet. I've just been so incredibly busy with life and work and a lot of other things going on that I haven't had the chance to do much with this just yet.
I have the new design boards in, and I basically just need to do a part count, and order some new bits from mouser.
The new design really improves everything; I removed the caps from the back, and made the heatsinkable components on the back all the same height (except the inductor, obviously, which still needs to be heatsinked!!) That way you only need to have two different parts of the board heatsinked to get it working properly.
Plus, that mosfet package I mentioned... hoo wee it'll be awesome!
