Hi all. I've got a problem with a Mohgasm linear assembly I am attempting.

I am trying to set one @ ~300mA. I've done the math: 1.25/R=I(amps) and have come up w/ a resistance value of 4.2 Ohms.

I've assembled a couple of these now. Matt was so very kind to give me the makings for a few of them. So, I'm not unfamiliar with assembling them.

My problem is that despite all of my attempts, including throwing on just a 1Ohm resistor, and swapping ICs, and I cannot force out more than 170mA w/ 8V from the batteries.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Could I have damaged the IC with excesive heat when soldering it on? Could caps being placed improperly cause this kind of anomaly?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Take some pictures so we can see if there is anything wrong.

Thanks, BB. No need now. I worked it out. I had a hair-thin solder bridge to the switch leg. All better now, and running smoothly at 305mA with new resistor setting.
