Hey all,

First picture shows a driver that was lightly used in another build that I want to use in a new project...does it overall look in decent shape?

Second picture shows two concerns. 1. Do i need to clean up the previous solder points a little better? 2. Does this little chard mark have any negative effects do you think?

You can use a clean iron tip put some flux and melt the solder , wire it up (make sure solder is not bridging any components) Otherwise.. Not a worry!! As jander said , hook it up to a testload.. if its output is same as it is setting, then your're good to go !!

EDIT: Nice pictures btw, i almost felt like my eye sight is getting blurry! shook my head and realized these photos SUCK! sorry !! had to let you know!

You would need to solder it... But it's still good BTW it's outputting 830mA...
How would I know

Woah woah woah wait a minute??!!?!?!! That's the driver used in the laser stolen from me,

Can you believe the balls on some people?

if you were a returning scammer...you wouldnt post details of a laser that was stolen from a member here, now that youve broke it ? ...you'd have to be incredibly stupid..

But if the cap fits..

Good detective work Shirlock!! ;) That really was a little dumb of him...and a least you have the satisfaction of knowing he no longer has a laser! We should keep our eyes open for further help posts though, as Im sure he'll be back as someone else...;)

You messed with the wrong guy Mr ILoveMyBeams or pr0jkt.. This is just wrong man, you shouldnt do stuff like this to people esp. anthoT who's been very helpful to everyone specially newbies like you..
I am super against selling "complete lasers" 445nm 's in particular to newbies and now i am sure that every once in a while we'll see people like pr0jkt (ILoveMyBeams) etc.
I think if a person doesnot have brains to build one, he is not worth it!! As they say , you have to earn your 445nm's :na:

Yup he will be back but he is very easy to find... At least this time was ;)

But yeah at least he broke it... He was talking about warranties when wanting to buy it, he has no idea what he is doing & broke it :) & thanks for the IP's ped... It was enough to block him from visiting my site also
