Stumbled on this today. Good learning kit. Kinda big at 1inch x 1.5inch.

Poorman’s Buck – High Power LED driver

$15 + $5 shipping... Ouch.

$20 total.

What fmt said!! But thats a versatile driver.
I have a 10W led (10v 1A) i might use this driver looks nice!

Hehe.. at least its not hard to find out how to set current on that thing

I'm surprised it doesnt go beyond 1 amp though. It certainly seems big enough to do it, although the inductor could be a limiting factor there.

Yeah, I just thought at the very least, it could be a good way for someone looking to learn more about drivers to play with a kit up close and personal.

Yeah me as well..
Perhaps with as bit of heatsinking on Q3 it should be easy
to get that 11A rated "P" Channel Mosfet to output a tad bit
more and maybe change the Inductor as you mentioned.
