Hi All,

Dint see this posted yet.:)

O-Like has a new 1 Watt or 200mW Driver:

1W 445nm laser diode driver / 200mW 405nm laser diode driver [OL-445-D] - $14.99 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products

"1W 445nm diode / 200mW 405nm laser diode driver

It can driver 1W 445nm laser diode (suitable for XJ-A140 diode)

Also it can drive 405nm 200mW diode (NDV45112 diode and SF-AW512P diode)

Driver specification

Input voltage :3.7-4.2V

Input current :1.6A

Output voltage:4.8V

Output current:1.1A

Dirver size:10.08*22.50mm

Driver with spring size :10.08*29mm"

What You All Think.? I see no pot on it from the only picture they posted so i cant see the bottom of the driver. So it might be Fixed with the tittle it has and the little details it gives.

i was just about to post the same, but you beat me to it :p

it does look interesting.
i wonder what the other side looks like.
can also run 200mW BR, i wonder what we have to do to make it work for 200mW. dont think 1,1A is good for a 4x or 6x BR :p

gonna order a couple this weekend i gues, gotta get some diodes to then...

also
the driver doesnt seem to be good for small builds since its bigger then a flexdrive

hope to get more info when i purchase them....

It might have 2 diffrent soldering bridges. 1 for 1.1 Watt and 1 for 200mW.

Damn, that thing is good sized....Not a very Flexable drive, it only takes 3.7 to 4.2... Thats not that good... :/

not good? i think the just meant to say that it can run from 1 fully charged battery.

ill order like 2 this afternoon (i just woke up) and when i get them ill give it a go

If you use a parallel battery pack instead of a series one you can get incredible runtimes, using a 2x 18650 host or one of the 2D Mag heatsinks from Jayrob for several amp hours of capacity.

I havent seen any Parallel builds. Most people like to run their lasers at one cel at a time

DTR's done a couple of parallel builds as I'm sure many others have for precisely the same reason as mentioned above.

As for how to set these drivers, I've got a couple of very similar ones from Odicforce that are set by soldering a surface-mount resistor of your chosen value to the appropriate point on the driver's opposite side to the one that has the coiled part on it; as the pic above shows.

There may also be a bridge to solder to define the positive input path.

I dont think 3.7-4.2v is bad at all..since most build use 18650 batteries which are 3.6-3.7v..
The only question is what kinda of run time would you get before the driver turns of..
I was also thinking that maybe we can use two cr123a batteries in parallel to get a high amperage for longer run times..but after doing some research i noticed that the cr123a batteries are 3.0v so that might be under power and not even turn the driver on(please correct me, if im wrong) as well as they dont come in high amperage, so running in parallel is proberly less efficient that one 18650..
Does anyone know if there are high amperage cr123a batteries that we can run in parallel to bypass the efficiency on 18650 batteries? or is that not possible or just flat out a bad idea? please let me know guys..thanks..
