need to buy a preassembled driver circuit

Im new to the laser hobby and am not equipped to build my own driver. I would like to buy a driver circuit for a dvd burner diode,8x i think. I appreciate any suggestions or links.
Thanks.

btw, Im in USA if it matters

look up rckstr or jib driver for linear.
or microboost and flexdrive for boost drivers. (they are more expensive)

i don't think you can use a microboost with a red.... but the flex drive or any linear drive will work.

to decide if you want a boost type or linear type think about what battery configuration your host uses.

if you can only get 1 AA or AAA in then you need a boost driver... if you can fit 3 aa or aaa then you can use a boost also.... in that same aa or aaa host you can also use a linear driver but you will need to use fully charged 3.7v lilthum ion rechargable batteries.

i believe the laser diode would need to be isolated from the host. so you can use it, but it's a nuisance.
