I know this doesn't really belong here, but I feel it's necessary for those who want to work with drivers.

I've never actually understood the physical mechanism of a transistor before I read this article. It's a great read and very well explained. Here:
SCIENCE HOBBYIST: how transistor works, an alternate viewpoint

Take a look at it. It is very intuitive. Makes a lot of sense, huh?

Great post the guy that wrote all of that obviously has a passion for getting across to ppl the ins and outs of transistor theory some of it i remember back In apprentice days many moons ago but it all still applies thx

Yes interseting how one of the very first things he mentioned was base current controlling collector current and how this can not always be right and hfe the gain of a transistor almost exactly the first few things i learnt as an electronics tech after ohms law and the real basic electronic stuff decades ago the only one he didn't mention at the start was Bias to turn on or off a transistor ,I'm showing my age i still like my toys, i still remember the first transistor radio i pulled apart at 10 years of age, and feeling the technology of it wonderful ,its stayed with me to this day, the first laser i ever saw was in the very late 1970s a 1mw 650nm the size of a half tissue box that our physics teacher was most proud to say was the bleeding edge of technology at a cost to my school of almost 10000 dollars ,that's like 30000 in today's money at least .i remember that day and thought wow i would love to have one of those, well it took a few more years like decade plus but obviously i did get one, two ..three etc

Yeah, I like his explanation of why current cannot control current. That made me very intrigued.

I've always been interested in lasers too, don't you worry! Hah. They are great "toys"!
