G'day!

Just thought id share my new battery storage system.

Using those fire proof Lipo battery bags from DX.

Large
Small

Might seem a little extreme having those plastic holders inside the bag, but hey they are nice and convenient!

I've been looking for something like this, good idea!

I always get nervous when I leave my batteries charging unattended even if it's only for a couple of minutes. I'm paranoid they are going to explode.

I'm very paranoid when charging the batteries... but as for storage, more often than not they are sitting in my desk drawer, sometimes in a plastic box, sometimes just in the drawer:undecided:

Same as you. Usually in plastic boxes on my drawer.

Worst case scenario he can throw a zippo in there, give 'em a shake, and presto! action-movie style cluster bombs! :eg:

^^^See, but all those incidents are during charging, or in the case of those videos, they were purposely set off.

I watch the charger like a hawk and NEVER leave any except AW protected batteries to charge when going to sleep.

Have there been accidents where batteries explode when just left un-attended but not on charger, just lying around at room temp?

I think I'll invest in a few of those bags though... just for a little peace of mind.

It is clear that this type of bag were made to introduce the battery during charging, for security.

This bags were not created for storage, where there is no risk of fire or
explosion (at least you store the batteries in the oven or similar, haha),
but obviously can be used for this purpose if you want.

Personally I do not use them, I have a good charger that controls all the
parameters, including the temperature of the battery all the time.

Also, whenever I'm around when I recharge my batteries, in case.

Wow, firebags at DX. Anybody tested these yet? I currently keep mine in a cardboard box, and that inside a file cabinet, but I'd like to have a nice, affordable safety net besides some sheet metal...
