i agree with kevlar and hak. even is it was adjustable in the product description it says its range is 300ma-1000ma.... a phr can't really handle more that 120ma.

michael.

Hmm oke, do you (or anyone else) knows a good driver for a PHR-803T diode?
I'm to affraid i damage my diode with this one.
Anyone intrested in my 1W Aixiz driver? Haha $7.50 ;)

There a lot good drivers for a PHR. But before I recommend one you must decide on your power source. Do you want a labby or hand-held? If hand-held, with a PHR, your could pretty much use any battery (s).

I wanna make a handheld.
Maybe i could use AAA or AA size batteries.
Have some old flaslight housings here to put everything in.
Any driver suggestions?

If you want to use AAA or AA size batteries, your going to need a boost or boost/buck driver. With both the flexdrive and boost drive your going to need at least 2V - 2.7V input so you'd have to use 2XAAA or 2XAA. Or you could use 1 Li Ion battery 10440=AAA or 14500=AA. A Li ion will provide 4.2V fully charged. (3.7V discharged).

PM flaminpyro or dtr for either one of those drivers.

Ok thanks, i also have a modded computer power supply it can output to 30A on 5V if i use this and make a labby what kinda driver do i need then?
Is this one suitable? : click here It has TTL, what does that mean?

I wanna know so i can compare prices etc ;)

That AixiZ driver afaik is best used with the 6X 405 and the 445 diodes only(not meant for a PHR).

What? i can get a 6x 405nm diode instead of phr!, so i can use the driver then? :D

AFAIK Yes--

Prices are now much lower for 6X 405 diodes and the old cost of many hundreds of $$ for a blue diode are now less than $50. Several sell them here on LPF and if desired you can buy one aready pressed into an AixiZ module with wires already soldered. (one choice would be DTR) You may find a ready made HS to fit your hosts or even better, buy a host with HS in kit form and build your laser in a very short time with very little to do. Ready made host/HS kits that use the 18650 battery are a great choice.
