Hi All,
this document http://prod.sandia.gov/techlib/access-control.cgi/2003/032100.pdf goes into good details on an ESD protection circuit. I know most of you don't experience problems with it, but if your circuit isn't going to be totally shielded it's something to consider. Also, I wouldn't build their final improved circuit, that's almost definitely unnecessary for 99% of applications, but their circuit on page 9 is useful!
