Default DDL driver for IR

Hello everybody, I used this schema to make drivers to run red diodes, but now I would like to make ddl driver to run IR diode, so I need about 2,2V @.5-1A, what changes should I do to this schema? I will use 3,7V 16340 battery. 3,7V - 1,5V(lm317) = 2,2V so voltage is good but the current...



Thanks for fast answers, some advice would be good or some formula that I will be able to calculate the values in future.
