Hello,

I`m very interested in lasers and i`ve been trying to build my own for some time. I have a big difficulty in understanding the electronic tecnical language since english isn`t my natural language.

I bought this o-like driver a long time ago and i haven`t used it so far. I only remember it was designed for 1w 445nm laser diodes but i have no idea of how i`ll connect it to the diode.

I want to build a desk laser, so i won`t use case as negative path.

1. What`s the best power supply for me to use on this laser?
2. Where should i connect the battery`s wires to the driver?
3. Where should i connect the two laser diode pins to the driver?

I haven`t found a diagram of this driver so far, and even if i had i`d still have trouble assembling it, so i`d appreciate much if you could help me just by saying how to connect the pieces. It may look i`m lazy but i think seeing how it is assembled will help me learn more.

Here are the diode and driver pictures:

You can use any single 4.2v cell with that driver so a nice 18650 will do the trick. The battery negative goes to the spring, and the positive goes on the top of the driver where you see B+ just remember that in your picture the driver is upside down so I'm gonna speak as if it were right side up. If you flip the driver over there will be 2 contacts at the top, The one on the left is diode negative, and the one on the right is diode positive

host positive then wire up the case pin to the B+.

please shrink down your pics a little. Thank you.

I think i understood.

No need to use case positive if i wire directly the battery + to the 'B+' OR, if i want to use a case, i just need to connect the B+ to the case.

If you know what you're doing what are you asking us for? :na:

I'm brazilian, I have some difficulty understanding electronic's terms. I didn't know what spring meant, for example.

So i've already burned two a140 diodes because of wiring them backwards, I just needed to be sure.

Thank you all for helping me, i wouldn't waste my time or yours if i didn't need help.
