Thanks tsteele :)

Luckily I've found a source for cheaper TPS IC's :D let's just say its even better than the Newark deal with a discount :D

It won't be much :)

Care to share? I would be interested in finding a cheaper source for some other TPS IC's... if it is a secret, that is ok - but if you can share it that would be awesome.

I can PM it to you but would rather not make it fully available :)

BTW they have all kinds of IC's not just TI, ;)

Ok 20$ each + shipping to wherever you are it varies :)

Compared to the old buck boost this does more & is less expensive :)

Will start taking pre orders soon :D

foulmist's FMT drive (same IC) boosts up to 6V with 3.6Vin and 1.5A max output. So it should :)

I think the concern above is about stability, i.e. regarding the Ben boost issue.

I think the concern above is about stability, i.e. regarding the Ben boost issue.

Benboost issue was solved a while ago from what I understand. Simple removal of a cap did it if I remember correctly. In addition I believe the testing done one the original round prototype design of this driver shows that the output was pretty stable.

P.S. I am not trying to promote this driver, just sharing what I remember.

I'm actually a bit disappointed how the the author handles this. ...yanking of the schematics from both this thread and the initial square version without any explanation... Yeah very opensource :)

Good luck.

That's why I am not very impressed here myself. Anyway, I realize the Ben boost problem was solved, but I think he is asking about this one.

In addition Luke and Anthot failed to answer my questions earlier in this thread. I realize that perhaps it was not explicitly stated (or perhaps it was stated but was changed since then?) that both this version and previous squared versions were open source design (although large square version is just round version with components reshuffled and this version is the square version with multiturn pot replaced to if I remember correctly by three turn pot and both Inductor potentiometer and one resistor moved to the other side) there is not much change in the design from the original version.

Why don't you guys yank the round one as well after as you said it yourself in an argument with another member: The driver has been tested and refined by members here?

The proper thing to do IMO would be to return all threads to their initial state schematics/diagramm/etc, keep the driver opensourced and let Anthot make it and sell it as you are planning.
99% of members here would not bother stealing your design and selling it. And if they did you could shame the hell outta them with everyone elses support.
Otherwise this is just a dick move on your part and does nothing to bolster your credibility.

gillza,
-the schematic is the same
-the pot is always multiturn
-the driver is tested and it's working very well
-as i said Anthot is supporting this driver.
I would suggest to you to stop to insist always with the same statement because you are starting to appear like an old broken vinyl disc ;)
So, go ahead. If you have some question about any other argument i will be glad to give you an answer.

Luke,

I see your stance on this now and I understand that arguing with you is pointless. What I wanted to achieve by my insisting statement I have done now, one way or another. This venture is off to an "interesting" start.

Good luck to you.
