Well, I really want a modded RC40 from him, but he can't say how much he can push one, even though he's done a few at this point.

The X60vn I'm staying away from. Some serious quality issues there apparently.

I'm glad I didn't jump on that. I saw 7500lm and of course took a look, but it seems like the project is really having trouble.
I can't wait for my Mx25l3vn and d40avn to show up. Not to mention get my shocker back from getting a v54 treatment :D

I saw you have the smaller eagtac and are happy with it. I'm hoping the mx isn't too big. I've got the big lights covered.
Was also looking at the eye40vn which I saw you have. Is it a practical light? I think I wouldn't use it as much as the others. For now I'm always reaching for the TK75vn. And when it comes probably the Mx25l3vn.

You're going to like the modded shocker, and d40a... I like mine a lot. Part of the reason I'm not getting a TK75vn killer throw version, is I don't see how it can compete with the modded shocker I already have.

About the Eye40vn, I think it's a very nice light. It does get got on turbo pretty fast, but still very usable for scanning, and perfectly usable at the lowest levels. It's just not a light that you grab if your goal is to find the toilet without tripping over anything in the middle of the night.

The only issue I do have with it, is that there is no good way to lock it out. You have to almost remove the battery case to lock out, and even then it's not a 100% guarantee. I doubt the standby current is high enough for that to become an issue.

The TK75 is still my all time favorite of the big lights... so far nothing beats it. The TK76 is interesting, but those two empty holes on it bother me too much.

I suspect you're going to be very happy with the MX24L3... I love playing with the light using the color filters.

Vinh did say the shockervn does out perform the TK75vn but I love the UI of the tk. And the size.

And the general purpose description vinh gave about the mx, I couldn't pass it up.

He had one in his last sale for $170 because it didn't have the extra tail switch. I should have waited a bit and I could have saved money. I'm not a tail switch fan on flashlights. That's why I like the tk over the shocker. But we'll see when I have them both.

Actually I love having the tailcap switch on the SX25L3. The side button is very flush with the body of the light, which means you really can't turn it on, if it rolls on a flat surface.

The downside is you absolutely can't find it with a pair of gloves on, and it's not too quick to find even without gloves in the dark. You're better off with the kit version imho.

I missed a couple of Vinhs sales, hopefully he has more soon.

Well that makes me feel a little better about spending more for the kit. Yeah his lunar new year sale was great. A k40vn went for $85. This multimeter sale I was about to pull the trigger on a regular price d40avn when I got the sale email. Saved a decent amount.

I just read another bad report of a x60. Out right called it a pos.

Now I just need a good edc. The d40avn looks a bit fat. I'm not to well educated on the smaller lights. Any recommendations for a edc?

If you want a really small light, the zebralight SC52 is perfect with a 14500.

For some more light, still in a tiny package, the SC600w II is great. Still really small.

Personally I carry a modded eagletac TX25c2, and an H602w. I love having a lot of even light from the H602w when I need it. Used it over the weekend when my car got stuck at night... the clip from the h52 fits it well, so I just clip it onto anything when I need light, instead of having to hold a flashlight. My idea EDC would be the SC52, just with a reversible clip.

What do you think of the tk51vn? A member has on for sale for $200 fiat lux.

I'm really liking the tx25c2 for a edc.

Not a fan, and for me it would be redundant (not that that's stopped me before).

It's 3x18650. They've done a masterful job of showing it as a "small" light, but it's really not something you can stick in your pocket comfortably. It also doesn't impress me at all on specs, and has a low that is too high at 10 lumens.

FYI the tx25c2 will beat it in throw, especially after Vinh gets through with it.

No crap huh. OK that's exactly what I needed to hear. Thanks alot man.

I wasn't sure about it, and hadn't heard too much on the light stock either.

Well for now I think I'll just save money for my lasers. I have 13 hosts to fill lol.

I may just pick up one of the edc you recommended, unless something else catches my eye.

His little titanium thrower looks ok too, but I've been hearing it gets too hot too fast. My convoy m1 may not be anything special, but it's a xml2 at 3.4a, very bright, I just wish it had a smooth reflector,, but the op does well for what I use it for.

That size (convoy m1) suits me well for a edc.

Well before I started this hobby I had a bit of a light hobby. Guess they both go kind of hand in hand. So I have:

Thrunite TN30 XM-L2
Thrunite TN32 XM-L2
Zebralight SC600 MkII L2
Couple cheap eBay XM-L T6's Ultrafires

And on order:

Zebralight SC52 L2
Thrunight TN35

Those are calculated lumens, IIRC.

Sometimes lux is important too, btw ;)

You folks who like DIYing should mod your own lights.

I've got an eagletac t20c2 mkii, and I like it, except for the twist the head to change modes deal. But this is because I can't figure out how to clean all the contacts, I can only clean the alu to alu contacts, but don't know how to pop off that metal ring to clean the spring and contact points under that. Only have one drop-in, so I don't want to fk it up ;)

I did recently mod an Ultrafire C8 (?). Put my best petrol'd XP-E in thar. Didn't have any XP-C on hand. Left driver stock for now. ugly hotspot due to plastic smo reflector, but still throws pretty damn well. Better than my 26mm p60 reflector based lights.

I am debating selling my Mvn and already selling my Xvn. Both killer lights by Vinh ;) Already have a for sale ad in the BST section but figured I'd let you all know since there are not many flashlight guys on a laser site.

I will say, my favorite flashlight is still the K40vn followed closely by IE's old 'Cuda. I tried buying another 'Cuda off CPFMP but lost it due to their STUPID new member posting rules. That crap is stupid if you ask me!

Did you ever manage to open up the barracuda?

The Mvn is a keeper I think, but I'm thinking of selling the Xvn. I just don't use it, since the k40 beats it, and is smaller.

Preferably on the smaller side.
