Its pretty darn bright, will dominate LED torches easily for light output.
The battery is pretty crap tho, being a china special. This one is only a 35W and its ridiculous. Id love to see a 75W, that must unleash a crazy amount of light.

How do you like the HID light ? I was thinking of getting one of the 55/65/75 watt models.
It sure would be cool to see a review of yours if you would ;)

Happy Holidays :san:

Things has one of those 75 watt models! :)

Heres his youtube review: eBay HID Torch - YouTube

Andddd, the guy who made things buy it: 75w HID ( T ) - YouTube :)

Watch some more of photonicinductions video's, they are friggin entertaining!

They are pretty sweet deals for the price! The beam quality is a bit eh, but can't expect too much.

Pretty close to what the beam looks like on a humid night :)

My missus said to me "how many torches do you need!!"

I said "why? what have you got?" :)

That shut her up :shhh:

In the UK we call flashlights "torch" (s).

got my 75W HID torch today...

straight after i opened it:
DSC_0250.jpg

as you can see the yellow filter is munted & the battery was on low (blue glow from end of torch), meaning it had been bumped 3x before that, it goes on high, med, low. Battery wasn't in bad shape thankfully, it metered at a healty 10.8V (3.6V per cell) on arrival.

Also the it came with a second yellow filter in the photo so yeah, no real loss there.

Its charging up at the moment :)

maybe it only allows high mode with a full full battery...

does that yellow filter cut out 445 and 405nm, per chance? Glad they gave you two of them! maybe it is supposed to be "broken"...

Good news comrades, i have solved the 3 mode HID torch delema!

The fix:

If its got 3 modes already, have the torch turned off, press the switch for one second then release. The red LED ring will stay on for ~1 second then turn off, immediately after its turned off, press the switch 5 times, if successful the LED ring will flash RED for 5 flashes, this means you are now in 1 mode.

If its got 1 mode, have the torch turned off, press the switch for one second then release. The red LED ring will stay on for ~1 second then turn off, immediately after its turned off, press the switch 5 times, if successful the LED ring will flash BLUE for 5 flashes, this means you are now in 2 mode.

If its got 2 modes, have the torch turned off, press the switch for one second then release. The red LED ring will stay on for ~1 second then turn off, immediately after its turned off, press the switch 5 times, if successful the LED ring will flash GREEN for 5 flashes, this means you are now in 3 mode.

Hope this makes sense, well it makes sooo much more sense than that poorly translate manual :p
