Also this light with XM-L DealExtreme: $35.70 UniqueFire XM-L HA-III Cree XM-L 3-Mode 750-Lumen White LED Flashlight with Strap (1*18650) . However it looks like more to be a thrower than a flooder

Has began to arrive and draws a bit more than 3A.

^^warning: refferal links in previous post (#7)
hmm these lights look nice, maybe I'll buy one

I don't know, but you'd better remove it...

There's nothing wrong with referrals, if you're gonna buy it anyways you might as well help someone get free money for it.

Third-party, referral links are NOT allowed. Please remove it from the post and your signature

I'm calling a big "BS" on the 1200 lumen claim for:
DealExtreme: $43.52 TrustFire TR-1200 HA-III 5*Cree Q5-WC 1200-Lumen 5-Mode Memory LED Flashlight (2*18650/3*18650)

It claims 1000mA digitally regulated output. If the 5 Cree emitters are running parallel (and some of the reviews & comments on DX suggest that they are), then that's not a lot of current (200mA) going to each. I would barely expect to get even 100 lumens from each LED, so 100 x 5 = 500 lumens is my generous bet.

1000mA but 2*18650.. higher voltage maybe?
dunno, I'll not buy that one either :p

That was my first thought too - but it seemed to be confirmed that the emitters were wired parallel, meaning the voltage out of the driver would be similar to any other flashlight.

From reviews and comments -
"LED's are united parallel"
"I recommend this: sku.26106. But it is a serial board, so you have to modify the connection of the emitters. " (meaning that they are factory-wired in parallel."

oh yeah, I've seen. but maybe the 2300-lumens' flashlight are cool tho?

Being an SST-90 based light, it's probably 2300 emitter lumens at it's max current, whatever bin that is. You'll be seeing >1000 lumens OTF though, unless the reflector is horrible, the drive current is low, and the lens is crappy.

Referrals doesnt hurt anyperson. Using referrals ALL win. Referrals dont cost you anything, and referrals help to purchase new flashlights, review them here and share the opinions, reviews, help the others, etc....

The problem with referrals is that the poster has a vested interest in promoting the sites and products that referrals are being provided for and this can lead to dishonest reviews, over-advertisement, and other negative side-effects. It also impacts the paid-advertisement that helps pay for this site.

More important than that: those are the rules. If you don't like it, you can leave.

A $!#$#$_#@%!#-ing bright led!

well.. I got a SSC P7 from dx once.. a pretty BRIGHT led.. rated 900 lumens. shame that they don't sell it anymore :(

hehe - but the XM-L (or even MC-E) outclasses the P7 in so many ways - thermal properties, efficacy, package size, and even price! :shhh:

Not trying to get this thread off track, but a lot of people prefer P7's to MC-E's. But XM-L outclasses both! :D Though for me it's not really worth considering until it comes in at least a semi-neutral tint.

I've got a triple MC-E light (love it, it's insane) and personally I love it, it has some pretty epic throw :D for having twelve dies, but I digress. Single LED lights at high brightness are much cooler and easier to carry/power.

For fun some awesome comparison shots from CPF:
Mag Rebel XM-L @5A super thrower - Beamshots Up!
