Well im lately searching for a better flashlight(still about 2 months away till i purchase)
but im looking at a 75W HID from ebay and the trustfire X6.
I guess these are among desame brightness.

I also like the burning on the HID's wich i think the X6 cant do, but one thing i dont like about the HID is probaly heat time. When does it reach full power and can it stay on full power?

Any other suggestions also not more then 200 dollar shipped?

thanks!

Neither of those match what you are looking for. Or maybe they do. What is it you are looking for again?

The HID would probably be more fun than the trustfire, IMO.

Burning and shining at buildings kilometers away. But id prefer flood of throw though. Also i like the color of the torch more then i like the color of the xenon bulb. Led looks a bit chilly imo. The color of the torch makes me think of ancient power or something:p

Seemed sexy, but the topics bond to that product say it can output 2000 lumens max.

HID will blow you away, you wont burn anything with that led torch.

It takes like 10~30 seconds to warm up.

thanks jeffrey :)
The torch seems to burn over double as good.
Im interested in both flashlights, hard choices hard choices ^^

isnt it possible to make a 100W flashlight with a halogen bulb wich actually does have at least 30 minutes of battery life? ^^

^ I would check with people over at CPF. I don't see why it would not he possible.

On a side note yes the torch does burn much better than the HID. I just want to make a point that you could getv some burning with the HID too. Obsidian have some issues with focusing the HID light. Obviously I don't do much burning with it. However the focal point on the WL torch is conveniently located. right next to the lens.

Now I'm no expert with flashlights.. so this is purely assumption but, I assume (based on my experiences with the torch) that you may have some heat issues if you make a 100W halogen with a longer battery. Its just something to take into consideration. The torch is basically a novelty item at best rather than a tool you could use "practically". Like people said before. "Its basically an over priced fire starter"

Its your choice what you buy with your money. I still suggest an HID

Also on a side note. I was able to get my torch from them during their fire sale. I ended up paying 99$ for the torch. IMO its not even worth that. Again just my opinion.

Good luck :)

I can understamd why you want to recommend me a hid over the torch but both have advantages and disadvantages.
I really love the yellow color of the torch, its burning capabilities.
But the hid got much better battery life and construction, and is focusable.
Also im still not sure if a 2200 lumen led would be brighter then the hid.
Im not going to cpf. I tried alot but i cant post there.

I have the 65W HID from ebay & it's pretty nice, I'm very happy with it. It takes about 2 minutes to reach its full brightness(6000 lmn) & while the throw isn't too spread out - it also isn't as concentrated as the ads make it look like. I gets damn hot too after about 5 minutes, almost too hot to handle. This beast is pictured in my sigfile on the top of the table, I can't imagine how hot the 75W one would get

i did consider it alot. but thinking i owned a Tk45 from fenix a year ago or so, i knew when i was using it i was playing alot with the brightness switch button and on/off.
You cant turn a HID on and off that much, so i figured i would best go with a LED flashlight.
