So much fail in that video. Pronouncing the name like that? Really? And the best part '1000 times more powerful than the sun'.

Id10ts! That's really gonna help telling everybody not to order one for a gift, everybody is going to want one after seeing this on tv.
That's really going to make customs look even harder into how they are getting lasers into the country. :banghead:

That is so annoying! Well obviously its not a toy! YOUR IDIOTS! and Why would any parent buy it for their child? They are so stupid they need to stop using the terms "st*r W*rs" and "ligh* Sa*er" gerrrrrrrrr! They are doing nothing but hurting this the laser community. I do agree with them on maybe two points...

I wonder what WL has to say about this... Whether or not they get more buyers, they will be happy the news is getting the word out about the Arctic. But im sure they wont take into consideration the fact that some immature kid might be buying that laser. Just my thoughts.

I wonder how many they lost being on the 'watch list'
and how that balances with the production costs...

I can't believe nobody has mentioned this but did you notice the reporter's laser has a ridiculous divergence like a flashlight? If that thing was focused correctly the camera down the road would have seen a much different picture. (probably after the report as well!)

Why are they wearing sunglasses?

People will ASSume all you need is sunglasses too. :p

So much fail but then again that's why we're the enthusiast crowd, right? ;)

I noticed laser goggles on the reporters using the laser.
Are you talking about the guys that tested it?

They arent actually sunglasses, they are laser goggles. Just another wrong thing about this video... the reporter calling them sunglasses

No the reporters made a remark as why are they wearing sunglasses. Yes they are wearing goggles (not the OD supplied with the arctic btw) but they called them sunglasses! :D

He wasn't completely clear in his explanation and didn't use the most precise terminology he could have, but lasers absolutely do have a much higher power density than the sun. It's not "more powerful than the sun" in total power output in all direction, but the power density (as in power per area, W/cm^2) of the sun on the earth's surface is certainly lower than the power density achievable with a focused laser. But reporters never get technological or scientific reports right, because they're reporters, not scientists or engineers.

Yeah, they said sunglasses once, but they said safety glasses later and it was pretty clear what they were. Also, that divergence looks absolutely typical of these lasers. It looked like exactly what I would expect.

I agree .. 1000x more powerful than sun is more or less correct. In other words you need roughly OD 4 glasses to make it safe. Sure 'powerful' is pretty lame way to describe power density.
