Hey guys! I recently bought a 1.9W Guidesman from weidmark here on the forums(dual flexdrive's). It takes a 18650, and I'm convinced that it can take 2 CR123 batteries stacked on top of each-other instead. The flexdrive is advertised on dr lava's page as able to take 6v into it. With the cr123's being 3v each, 2 should work just fine....plus with this using 2 flexdrive, does this split any difference in the voltage? or is 6v still 6v even split between 2 drivers?

Thanks guys!

It does say that on the product details page but in the manual it says 5.5V and I did ask drlava and he said not to exceed 5.5V.

You can drop the voltage of the batteries by adding a diode in series with the drivers.

I'd wait for the charger personally. If you have the original battery holder from the guidesman host you can put 3xAAA (4.5v) in it. I used that with rechargeable AAAs (4.2v) until my 18650s arrived.

But for future reference....

If you're using 2 primary 3v lithium batteries with a maximum 3.2v capacity you can put 1N4001 diode in series with batt + to drop the voltage to a safe level according to the manual. If you're using 2 rechargeable 3v with a max charge of 3.6v each two 1N4001 diodes in series would drop it to ~5.8v which might be safe but I'd talk to DrLava first. You may have to use a different diode to get the right voltage drop to give you a safe input voltage.
