Well it can't be worse than overdriving it by 150% like some people here will be doing. Mariomaster told me that the threshhold for these diodes is ~250ma, but he didn't measure the output. In the video you can see the output is 80mw @ 300ma, so you could have one of these putting out 50-80mw that would last a really long time. Even if it was only 50mw though it is still dangerous, and you still must practice safety precautions while using it.

post #2 is LPF , RAPierce

I must have missed that. :thanks:
Do we know what lens MarioMaster is using?
Time to dig through the mess of posts...

Edit: He is using Aixiz acrylic.

Once we have more numbers on these diodes I hope we can get a chart going like francorob made for the 8X and 12X...

You can see the jump in power on my graph at the same current on mariomasters line. at first he was using aixiz acryllic(all he had). Then he just ran it without a lens.

Has anyone here actually tested one of these or is this data stolen crap?
HMike

This graph from a PL user is very close to the measurements that I got at 475mA's. (depends on the lens used - He used a different lens than the ones I tested I believe)

Now take a look at my measurements shown here: (pictures, diversion, and other information here Mike)

I'll try and make a graph, or chart of everything posted here so we can get a good idea of the power curve of these things. I'll just update this post as the info comes in.

Let me know if I can do anything better with the graph. I was using Francorobs as an example.

This graph is great, but we need to mention what lenses were used with each persons measurments. For instance, mine was with the AixiZ 405 glass lens. But SpyderFire is using the 405-G-1, and I think MM is using AixiZ acrylic...

Also, i posted a testing of mariomaster on youtube, i write the mA and the mW...
Hey there that is a really nice software package for your meter, I looked at those too; they looked really nice. Congrats!

Darn, that's still too high for me. Even with proper eye protection I wouldn't want to play around with that.

I really just want something to play around with, but I guess these are too powerful for that.

Look at the graph jayrob posted above it seems to show the thresh hold current at 200 and power output start well below 50mw. Don't give up hope yet!

Ohh nice, I may set mine higher than I had planned!!! I cant wait to hook it up to a flexdrive, just using rkcstr at the moment!!

And I agree, this is an amazing color, and makes a fantastic laser!!!

Alright you guys made me give in...

Had to have it at class 4 power.

640mA's - 530mW's with AixiZ 405 glass lens...

Kingdave! You need to get that thing measured on a real meter so I can add it to the graph!
Oh and the graph is updated with jayrobs, and gluttons info.
