Ok everyone, just joined this forum today and already have my first build thanks to all the helpful people on this forum. I have only one more favor to ask, and that is to see if all the parts i have here work together, and basically just give me the OK to order these parts. Just letting y'all know, i am building a 1.5w-1.75w 445nm laser with these parts.

Host: C6 DIY Cree LED Flashlight Full Casing/Shell with Driver Pill (2*CR123A/1*18650) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme

Diode + Module: 1 5 2W 445nm Blue Diode in Module w Leads Aixiz Glass | eBay

Driver: 2W 450nm Laser Diode Driver 1 5A 1 8A Boost Circuit Stable Compact Design | eBay

Heatsink: C6 Black Anodized Heat Sink only - $5.99 : Cajunlasers Store

HOPE ALL IS WELL. PLEASE REPLY SOON!

Yeah, that seems like the basics and they will all work together, few changes id make though. dont get a Al heat sink at high power outputs, Cu is a better heat sink in a small host for heat transfer. Al is better at heat transfer but in a small host it will get hot quickly at high outputs. also i dont know that driver at all and i have never seen any members use it. it could work or it could be junk (unless someone recommended it to you and confirms the quality i wouldnt use it). mohgasm and cajun both have good drivers, along with other members on here. i personally would use a trusted driver

just my input

Whats with all these newbies building 1W+ lasers for their first? I built a LPC-826 and have yet to build a 1W+ 445 because they are expensive and I don't want to screw it up, have you ordered anything yet? If not I would recommend building an LPC-826 first the move up to more power and cost

Well, im runing a M140 diode with a 1.5a currents, thats not two watts, more like 1.2w. I can't find any copper heatsinks (c6) that are in my price range.

So you can afford to buy a >$45 diode for your first build but you can't afford a maybe $10 heatsink to protect your diode?

^^ yeah i was going to say, he hasnt found a Cu heat sink in his price range because he hasnt looked. there are PLENTY of Cu heat sinks for right around $10 i got my mohgasm Cu heat sink for $6 in his GB and regular price is $9. if you skip out on upgrading your heat sink then you can plan on owning an operable laser for about 1 month.....in the end the choice is ALWAYS yours but we are here to help you build the best laser possible

if you want to save $$$ on batteries you can get: THESE

i can vouch for them, i have 4 of them and they are very good. i know it will only save you $5 but still you can get 4 for the price of 2 that you were planning on.

Mini copper heat sink for laser driver ***(2 PACK)*** - $2.99 : Cajunlasers Store

dont make your own with aluminum foil because of the chances of shorting your driver. Use arctic alumina thermal adhesive

Arctic Alumina Thermal Adhesive

Get a 1.8a driver

also pick up a focus knob from mohgasm so you don't burn your fingers. choices are polished or black.

Preorder : Mohgasm LLC, Have you experienced one lately?

if you have any more questions just ask and use the search at the top of the page before asking your question because chances are your not the first one to have the question
