This was a fun mod, Jordan,s 35mm module wouldn't fit by a millimetre, I had to bring down the back and back side for the host to thread into the head, originally the Himel 5.5a boost driver I was intending to use was getting to hot to touch at 4.5a and then I managed to break a component of so I ordered two 4.5a SXBs from Jeff, they arrived 2 weeks later and the first driver wasn't showing anything on my test load with multiple different bats, I tried heat sinked and bridged still nothing so had to use the second one, I couldnt get over 3a with my PS set at 4.8v so not much luck with these drivers, I left it at 3a for 3w disappointed since this diode is capable of 6w and now I find all the bats I purchased won't fit so I'm left with a 18500 IMR, at least I'm still getting 3w with this bat. There isn't much extra room in this host so I had to remove my heatsink on the regulator for the head to screw together, fortunately my copper module is touching the top of the regulator so I'm sure its sufficient.
I also had issues with the grounding of the host and the switch, I removed all the anodising from the threads with a brass brush drillbit. I tried many different switches some worked better than others, now it's using a modded clicky not the stainless momentary in the pics, my grounding and switch issue is resolved and now working great.
The INR Effest 26500 with Max 48a discharge current that I purchased for this build is half a millimetre to wide to slide in my barrel, very disappointing. The divergence of this NUBM06 diode with a China G2 lens looks very similar to me as the NUBM07E if not better. I really like this Led Lenser though, it's great quality nice size and the matte black anodising looks awesome.

Thanks Jordan-Jeff and LPF!

That is a nice size unit, I bet it feels solid, and the copper looks good.

Hi BBB,
you pulled a awesome build off again, You can mod a host buddy tons of work to make it fire up.. Very impressive i say those hosts are built well to.
This thread was a breath of fresh air , back to building. Nice!!

+REP if I can. It looks great. We're you saying that that host costs $60? Even if it was the results seem to be worth it. Not sure I understood the switch issue. Did the original switch fail because of the amp draw?
Thanks for showing others how to make one. Really like when other builders show the steps rather than just a complete build. It's encouraging to those builder wannabes.

Thanks guys!
It wasn't easy but like I've said before the more work you put into something the more you can appreciate it later! This build took nearly a month to complete, mostly due to waiting on parts, I thought I would add up the cost and wow it wasn't cheap!

LedLenser eBay $60
NUBMO6 DTR $95+ shipping
2-4.5a boost drivers Jeff $60+ shipping
2-26500 batts Kaidomain $10
2-26500 Efest IMR R-Lsales $32
35mm module DTR $23+ shipping
Stainless momentary eBay $ 4
Single element lens Techood $10 =$294.00 this does not include

shipping on some items. Well worth it though, thanks for your comments!

Oh and this is American dollars, converted to Australian dollars it cost me over $400

It's amazing how fast the parts can add up. Disappointed to hear about the driver issue. At least you found an appropriate switch. I've repaired or replaced plenty of them.
