This also brings me back to the thought that all the other ones I've had till this point were ones I manually extracted myself. I don't think a single one of those quit on me. But diodes that have been heat extracted are way less predictable.

Yeah I have. It got a lot of attention. Both good and bad. Some people are really fearful of lasers. They fear what they don't understand. And some people just can't stand see people having a good time so they exaggerated the danger. What happened to Americans wanting freedom. There is a lot real issue that need to be dealt with.

I just tested this diode again. It's one that is in a laser I built for someone. With a G2 lens it hit a max reading of 8.68 watts. That seems pretty good and it's been being used daily for the last two months. I'm going to get more of these.

I should also note that I chilled the laser in the fridge before I ran it. So it was starting around whatever a fridge runs at 45° or something.

I will ask the guy who built my meter how much and let you know.
I edited my post because I didn't mention I chilled the laser. Its only fair I mention that. But still a good run noNE the less.
Until the NUBM08E comes into the picture the the 44 and 06 are top dogs. I'm sure there's another newer diode hiding quietly in a projector that will show them uplay also.

Red do you happen to have a comparision shot of divergence at 10 meters of 3 element vs g2 vs g7 vs gball?( burn marks with label that is parralel to each other)...

hmmm if you can focus all 7- 8 watts to a needle thing beam of a 405nm or 532nm

then you would need fire extinguisher on stand by lolz:D

i have a feeling that green diode going to break the 2 watts barrier soon...

i wish n!chia start to make the red WL....hmm a 2 watts red with m140 divergence why not right?

A lot of new projectors are going all blue laser diodes to pump phosphors that make RGB, it's more efficient. Greens and reds may come slower or for specialty units. Yes they will be expensive, I love the blue anyway.

So Jordan,s quick test on the NUBMO6 at 5a is getting 6.3w with aG2,
And 6w with the Gball, that's still great but I was hoping for 7+ at 5a
Still great price for 6+watts.

The real beauty of the NUBM06 is the divergence is better than the NUBM44 and both make good power at 4.5 amps 5.5-7 watt range, 25% tighter line width for the 06, or if you look at it the other way the nubm44 is 33% more divergent as it makes a 33% longer line.

This is the 06 at 15 feet with a G2

That's it.....I have not been a fan of the 044E....but....I may take a flyer on this bad boy !!! And...I will give it a pair of glasses !!! Time to search of where to get and how much $$

Here's the NUBM06 with a G2 and 6X pair at 15 feet. It actually runs slightly negative divergence to start and opens up a mm from it's start at the end of 15 feet with a sweet spot in the center but it runs pretty tight, this was just a test setup.
I get my 6X pairs from LSP, email him or contact through flebay. 55 AUD and that's 41 USD LINK1 LINK2

HERE IS THE 06 WITH FACTORY GBALL INTACT @ 4.5 AMPS

OK....Cylindrical lens...I have a few sets....But...Just started to search where to shag a NUBM06E !!! We can adjust the divergence by carefully selecting the distance between the Plano concave and Plano convex lens....well....I will experiment also....and add to the picture.:beer:

Thanks Red
Yes I've seen all your videos and abarnetts, yes I'm happy I bought it instead of the NUB44, better divergence this is all good news, can't wait to recieve it and put it side by side with my NUBMO7E bothe at 4.5a and see the difference.

Thanx....DUH....I checked out DTR's site....but blew right over the NUBM06E....because it said 3.5 W.....Good price too !!!

SO....watched the video....looks like likely 5A is a OK level to drive this at....might cut some life off...but...in a HH...Meh !! So !!! not a real concern !!
So....close to 6W !! AND correctable divergence....unlike the 44E.....I will experiment with this !!:san:
