Is this a New PS.? If so Return it and Exchange it for a New One. That is Not right.

I would try changing out the leads and see if it makes a difference. If not it could point to it being the power supply itself.

Few months old now, one year warranty though. I will contact the seller today. I really am lucky this didn't happened when testing my diode, would've gone very wrong!

I would try changing out the leads and see if it makes a difference. If not it could point to it being the power supply itself.

I don't have an extra set of leads at the moment, but I will be sure to test this before I PM the seller!

Actually all you need to do is measure the resistance of the leads with ur DMM,
you should be able to tell if the 1.6 Ohms is coming from them...

Okay. Something is very wrong. Turned it on and this happened:

It's a 0-30V PSU displaying 52.5V. :wtf:

mine did that when it suffered a high voltage return path through (through me) to the PSU from my 50kV Marx Generator, went to 49.6V and was jumping around there, the adjustment knobs did nothing.

Alright. My power supply just completely died. Everything is stuck at 0. It's gotta be the power supply that is the problem :p

Will Contact the seller - Probably going to cost me more than the power supply in shipping :(

Does anyone know of a super reliable power supply? Only need 0-3A 0-12V or so.

Also I do think that 5A is a better ceiling for this hobby. If you do some dual driver builds you can get into the 3-4A range pretty easy especially now we have 445's that are sucking down 5V+ running at full potential.;)

Yeah go a 5A, hell ive got a 5A unit at work and a 10A unit at home :)

How did you all get the lenses out of the holder they are in? I'm having a hard time getting them out and I'm afraid of damaging the surface.

I had some trouble too...

Probably not the best idea,
but i put the holder in a vice and shattered it (making sure not to crush the lens)

I have not worked out a perfect process yet but the holder I have not had any problems with. I use two pair of pliers and just contort it a bit and the lens will fall out as the glue breaks away from the holder. There lies the problem. The glue comes off the holder first not the lens which leaves you scraping it off the lens. I really don't like having to do it that way.

It would be awesome if there was a solution that I can submerge the whole retainer in that will remove the glue but not harm the lens or AR coating. Or if heat could be applied to soften the glue without hurting it.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Will acetone/nail polish remover hurt the AR coating? If not, you might try soaking in this overnight...
