Hi,
i am relatively new to the forums and have made 2 builds so far, both using the C6 host assemblies. My first build worked perfectly, but the one i have just finished is a little odd. Sometimes it doesnt turn on when i press the switch, but if i twist the tailcap off a little bit it will turn on. if i turn it off at this stage and try to turn it on again, it simply will not work.
I fear that it may be just the switch that is faulty, but i'm unsure.
If i could get an opinion from an experienced member on the forum, that would be awesome.
Thanks

I was first gonna suggest that you put the batteries in the wrong way, but you said it WILL turn on if you twist the tailcap a little bit.

So, it sounds to me like you've got a bad host. Not sure how, but that's what it sounds like. Check and see if there's any dirt or anything on the threads (throughout the host) that could be stopping it from conducting electricity. That could be the problem.
Or maybe the tailcap switch itself is faulty. Try taking off the tailcap and making the conncetion to the host w/ a piece of wire or something. If it works fine like that, then something is wrong in the switch or tailcap assembly.

Hope that helps :yh:

This could be a grounding problem so be sure the mating surfaces are clean and then it could be your switch or the hold down ring that keeps your switch in place, check to be sure that is tight.

See if that helps...

If you're unsure about the switch, take off the tail cap and use a wire or tinfoil to jump the switch. If it works perfectly you know the switch is bad.

Also check continuity of the switch using a dmm. After you eliminate the switch as the problem you can move on.

Also try different sizes of battery if possible. It may be too long causing excessive pressure on the components.
Just some guesses. But definitely jump the tail cap to see if it tells you anything.

i've had c6 hosts (and others) do this when the battery(s) are too long. you could clip a bit off from the spring of the tailcap.
