Be careful when cleaning certain types of lenses with certain solvents/techniques. Rubbing alcohol may damage the AR coating on a AR coated glass lens, or at least that's what I've read.

I haven't seen the enlarged version but the thumbnail looks pretty normal to me.

Looks a bit dirty to me, ReNNo. I'm gonna see if I can get lens cleaner today that won't bust my balls...

Here's a video of my 400mW 445nm stage laser that I just completed building.

2 Amps, still no power meter.
Also looks like its too much for my phonecam :)
I'm using the aixiz 405 glass lens btw.

2 Amps...
Are you serious??? These 1W-rated diodes are running <2Ws???

Yes, I am [incorrectly] assuming ip current is linear to op power which is certainly not he case. But everyone has to admit that 2A must put out more than 1W of power, right?

OMG...

Yes...I like it to be perfect and these tiny dust particles are annoying me.
I'd try to clean this but I'm afraid if it gets even worse.

What is the best way to clean this?

Actually, these diodes are run pulsed at almost 2 watts in the projector. It goes something like 5ms 1.4 watts, 5ms 1.8 watts, 7ms off. These diodes won't break until 2.4 watts for a few seconds anyway.

ReNNo-I just went to town today and picked up some lens cleaner at an eyeglass shop-WOW! It's great stuff, it's AR safe, and it got rid of this dust speck you can see I had trouble with if you look a bit back on the thread. It's called ultrapure or something, it actually cost less than a bottle of rubbing alcohol (about $4.50) and they gave me a free microfiber cloth, I'm sure you could ask for one too. In case you want to get the same stuff just to be safe, it came in a small clear plastic bottle and really the only details written on the bottle was that it wouldn't damage an AR lens. I clean the diode by cutting the end off a q-tip and filing it down to a dull point. I put the microfiber cloth over that tip and spray a bit of the agent on the cloth. I stick the tip down onto the diode window and rub around. BTW these diode windows are actually really strong... I was pushing pretty hard (hard for cleaning a super-sensitive electronic component, that is). It almost looks new, there's just this small artifact on the lens, maybe I was pushing a bit too hard and scratched it. But I'm a happy camper, this spray goes wherever my laser goes.

Thanks but eyeglasses shops in my city are poor, it's most likely that they don't sell it.
But I'll try.

What if I try to clean lens with alcohol?
