I haven't done anything new with this one, but here it is anyway. :yh:
This is my first build and I think everything turned out perfect. I didn't take a lot of pictures because I was a little excited about the build but here is the finished result! (Sorry Pi R Squared and everyone else whose lasers I copied. :p I just really liked the look. :D)
Sorry about the bad pictures I used my phone.

I also purchased the tube extension for 18650s.

Here is a very bad beam shot of this in a well lit garage.

This thing is awesome! Running at 1.8 amps and using a g-2 lens I would expect 2 Watts or more. Although I think I like using it with 1 18650 for reduced output more. Assembly on this was extremely easy I soldered in the diode and driver into the pill within a few minutes of getting it. I had to go back and cut the wires even shorter though to make it fit while using the (brass?) part of the module that DTR sent me. (I don't know what it should be called) Anyway this thing seems to handle the heat very well with the brass module thing attached inside the heatsink. My only question is should I use the thermal adhesive between the module and heatsink? With 1 18650 the host and heatsink don't even get warm with long run times. With 2 18650's or 2 RCR123's the host gets warm near the minute mark but the face of the heatsink still feels cold. Anyway thanks for looking! -HAM :D

Good work, congratulations on your first build, that is a really nice laser, am pleased my build thread/tutorial helped. I do like that host and recommend it.

Don't use thermal adhesive or you would never get the module out of the heat sink again if you ever needed too, use thermal compound or thermal grease, it doesn't dry and permanently glue stuff in place. With mine I didn't bother with it because the module was a good fit so I didn't think it necessary.

+rep for your first build.

This is inspiring as I am about to take on my second laser build, but the first one I did was very unprofessional and badly built. I am going to take this build more seriously, and I hope it turns out as nice as yours. Nice job man.

Thanks! Let me be the first to say Welcome to LPF! Hopefully your build goes great. There are a lot of knowledgeable people here. You should head on over to the welcome section and introduce yourself here.
