alright so i searched and did not find anything on this topic so ill post
what type of corrective optics are needed to turn a multi mode line into a single mode dot or something close to that

Due to the losses in optical output , i think a better solution is as discussed here.

If you look closely, you can see that the dot is still a square. It might be less of a retardof:)ck line, but it's still not round.

Short of some very expensive mode correction optics, you're not going to be able to get a round beam ( a 'dot') out of them.

Both anamorphic prisms and cylindrical lenses are for fast axis correction. Their effect is to make the fast axis diverge at a similar rate to the slow axis.

A square is about as close as you'll get.

A square a dot just as long as it doesn't diverge as bad now if if only all this could be fit into a handheld
